Given enough time these people will know the real deal when they come across a MS-13 banger that has been granted asylum undeservedly. If they throw punches at me for no reason then I can't imagine what they will do over getting their shoe stepped on or cut off in traffic.

It's getting harder and harder to watch the news/read articles. There seems to be so much garbage out there, and the "bad" things that are true, kind of indicate mankind is heading to quick destruction.

Read on Saturday that Ukraine is about to take Donetsk, pushing ever closer to the city, and that the Rebels are calling for more aid from Putin. Read, today that 438 Ukrainian soldiers ran out of ammo and split their force (the 438) crossed into Russia. Russia, says they defected, Ukraine says they were pinned down and made a desperate attempt to evade constant shelling from the rebels. Read today, Russia has a 100 aircraft participating in drills on the border of Ukraine.

Israel-Gaza, a war that will never end until one of the two groups is completely removed from the the Middle East.

Headline, "Japan to launch military space force by 2019". Did not read the article, but nothing from the headline sounds good to me. No offense to the beautiful Japanese peoples and their history and traditions. Just kind of remember hearing about them attacking Pearl Harbor in 1941, less than 100 years ago. They seem like the type of people I want to have military weapons, flying around with in space.

Today, you guys are all chatting up the border issues; which as a New Yorker I have little to no interest in. And as an American, probably should. Although, we are a people made up of immigrants, so it would seem that traditionally they should have as much a right as anyone else to live and work here.

Finally, Ebola and all its black magic power has arrived "officially" in the United States. Giving the 21st century potential bubonic plague, even a fraction of a percentage to spread in the United States, is beyond most of my ability to reason. Without question the infected should be quarantined at the location where they are found, not brought to medical facilities in the United States. If Ebola were now to spread here, the life of every American soul lost would be on the idiot who authorized the infected patients arrival in the United States. Of course, the possibility remains that others will bring it here, or that it may be here already. And, that by treating the virus here we have the best chances to figure out how to defeat it.

As always with the state of where I find my country today, I believe without a shadow of doubt that we should begin to remove ourselves from all the interests of the world. Domestically, I see far greater concerns than the interests we find ourselves committed to all around the globe. Every penny spent in the Middle East is better spent on American soil. We spread ourselves too thin and we spend too much on things that make us susceptible to greater risks at our doorstep. Stop sharing technology, and stop funding the same people we fight against. Bring back American money, honor the debts that we owe and when the world calls for our help again strike down the oppressors without mercy.

The leadership in this country, today, are some of the sorriest bunch that have probably ever held office. Looking at the 2016 ballot of Hillary Vs. Chris Cristiecream or some other Texas hickory republican makes me very concerned on how much farther we are going to open our arms and spread our resources across the grid. What happened to the strong leaders? The ones that said no to muckraking and no to political packs and yes to corporate responsibility and no to funding every single request overseas. The ones who walked softly and carried a big stick!

Holy crap. Maybe you shouldn't read the news because you are too much of a worrier with a big imagination.

Comparing this ebola stuff to a potential modern day bubonic plague scenario is insane. Not only is that disrespectful to modern medical practice in this country that is just a bit more advanced than the 14th century, it also shows you know nothing of the disease which doesn't have the ability to spread quickly with even basic health and sanitation procedures.

This doctor and his associate that acquired the disease are world class heroes. We like to throw that word around too much in our society but they are true heroes. They made the unpopular, dangerous and less lucrative choice to help their fellow humans battle a deadly disease on the front line... I think it's pretty pathetic that people would be upset about giving these folks the right to receive top notch healthcare back home with their families in return for their sacrifices.. Especially since the risk of this spreading beyond the hospital walls with the way they are monitoring the transportation process is incredibly negligible.

They are heroes. It's pretty bold and ambitious to risk your life for someone else. In being a hero sometimes you must face the ultimate sacrifice, an unfortunate predicament that these heroes face now. The transportation process may be "incredibly negligible", but since we know little to nothing about this disease other than that it spreads and kills quite quickly and effectively; I think it was a poor choice to knowingly bring the disease to the United States. Allowing even a fraction of a percentage for this disease to spread in the USA seems too risky a gamble for me.

I get what you are saying. I just don't agree that aiding these people here, in the USA, is in the best interest for the greater good.

Big things are happening all around us, no imagination needed.

Will I receive an Ebola warning on my phone, like I do for Flash Floods?

The incubation period is 21 days. Hardly quick at all. Black plague killed in ~7 days

Yes, but it will come in the form of blood oozing out of the ear jack port, the charging port, the speaker, the volume button, the camera lens, the mute button and the screen.

I wish more people took the time to do their own quick research into the virus itself and it's virulence, transmission etc. The fear mongering going on is ridiculous.

The point is, when the symptoms come up, they'll be isolated. A disease that kills in 21 days is not effective in causing a huge pandemic.

Why don't we stop all African flights departing out of the continent. The incubation period is so long a whole planeful could be infected and be ignorant to the fact. Surely that is a more likely scenario to infect the pristine west than some CDC level quarantined setup.

Cough and sneeze all you want. Just don't spit into another human's orifice.
