Wow, never seen those jerseys before. No offset green with white numbers on the upper arm/shoulder. What year is that? _
Looks like either 1969 or 1970. Just saw it on the Gridiron a Uniform Database. http://www.gridiron-uniforms.com/jets.html _
Weird, I was only 11 back then so I don't personally remember but in the 44 years since I've never even seen a picture of those uniforms. Thanks! _
I'm actually looking forward to Opening day but for a different reason than a lot of you are. I'm seeing Idzik's plan slowing coming together and he's building a team with youth, talent and depth. This takes time to accomplish and we're only in year 2 of the Idzik era. MM's system is also only in year two but we're seeing a steady upgrading of the talent on that unit. ST's perhaps still might be the weakest link but in time, that should change as well. The defense which is already good, is simply gaining experience both on the field and in the lockerroom as new leaders emerge and teammates take notice. My personal opinion is 2014 will be one of the few remaining stops on the road to contention. We're close, but not quite close enough to make a real run. Any team can get lucky. Even the Jets. But luck only takes you so far as you still have to win the games and beat the teams you're not supposed to in order to take that next step. Most folks here agree that a QB either hits his stride or the wall in year 3. Geno gets one more season to get it together and prove he's the QB to get it done. I'm looking for big things out of Geno in 2015. If not, we can start looking for a Vet QB to step in while we wait on the next franchise QB to come along. Idzik is already looking ahead to 2015. That would explain why he's stashing all this cap cash. His plan is to hit 2015 big with lots of money on hand to put the finishing touches on his creation. Rex will be in year 7 and by then, knows which lane to stay in. That would be his defense and MM's system will also be in a mature state by then as well. Mark my words folks.. 2015 is the year to watch for. Just be patient. Take 2014 as it comes but don't bet the house on it emotionally or financially. C
