Davis' best accomplishment today was calling his teammates out. He had a good practice day, but so did Sudfeld yesterday and nobody is putting that guy on a high pedestal. I'm glad that Demario kicked some ass. He needs to keep doing it.
The funny thing is that Falco pretty much universally praises anything the team does, good or bad, even when they fuck up somehow. Davis does this and really kicks some ass, and Falco is talking about some fantasy minor league bullshit to relate his many leadership experiences. Fucking baseball neverland packed with a wicked witch and midgets singing songs. Who gives a fuck.
Leading by example. Classic form that never gets old. Nice to see DD step up and put an end to the crazy. Now all the team has to do is follow his lead. Somehow, I can picture Idzik with this huge smile on his face. He won twice this week. Got the Jets in the papers with the bullshit, then salvages the situation with sensible talk from an unlikely player. It couldn't have ended better for the Jets this week. Lets just hope The Talkers got the message today.
I'm not sure that Demario is an unlikely player, though. He's been a vocal leader since he was drafted. I think the thing that makes it work is that he led by example on the field and then laid down the gospel.
Demario has BLAZING speed (ran down Vincent Jackson from behind in last year's opener) and incredible strength (I've seen him pick up opposing players and literally throw them back multiple times). With the physical gifts he's got, he can be a great player if he gets the mental side of the game down. From the sound of how much time he spends in the film room and how much extra work he puts in, I think he's well on his way.
LOL Just shut the fuck up already and move on. This is a forum filled with opinions, whether you like that or not. I wasn't talking directly to you. I voiced my opinion on something that took place, whether you think it's a dumb ass opinion or not, you don't need to respond. So shut the fuck up, live your life, and carry on. If you don't like it, ignore it, but Holy shit you are pathetic to go out of your way to shit on someone for an opinion and then continue to talk shit when no one has said anything to you. The greatest part is, you know so much about me that you even talk about me to other people. So I enjoy renting space in your head.
Yes, I keep a special place in my head for people that are unabashed homers. Care to tell me to shut the fuck up again? It's kind of funny after your continued candystriper routine day in and day out.
Talk as much shit as you want, who gives a f***. If you go out there and back it up and win you become legendary you fail you get laughed at. Where use to both, this isn't our first rodeo. Let's get some swagger back and go get it.
Good, nice to have balance on the team. Also nice to see Davis being one the speaking it. Rex was gushing about the kid's leadership abilities but it's one of those things that you really cannot judge as a fan. We just got a glimpse of it.
Except he didn't call anybody out. All he did was dump a bunch of ugly shoes in front of his teammates and invite them all, including himself, to try them on. If the shoe fits...
One of the things that was touted about Davis when he was drafted was his leadership skills and he just showed it. I don't have much to add except ... WOW! I LOVED reading this!!!
It is what it is man. I have nothing against you and I don't plan on constantly fighting with you over the Internet. Am I a "homer", I guess so, but I am young and am excited for this Jets team. I didn't spend the countless years of denial like many on here did. I am very young with the Jets and am confident in our coach and our roster. Yeah, I agree with almost everything they do, and maybe I shouldn't, but I've learned to just trust in the organization and be excited for the moves being made. May be because I'm young and didn't deal with the years of bullshit this franchise has gone through, but I've had my fair share for 10+ years. I'm just a pure Jet fan through and through. I respect your opinions and I actually very much enjoy your football comments. This offseason is killing a lot of us in anticipation haha
I don't agree with employees talking about their fellow employees. Keep that shit in house. None of my business.
Wow, this subject is a lot more polarizing then I was anticipating. DD didn't call any single person out. He even said that his teammates have the potential to be something great but still need to put in more work. This is exactly what I would want my captain / leader to say in reaction to a couple of young guys being confident. He didn't tell them to tone it down, He didn't tell them they were wrong or even call them out explicitly. He basically just said you better back that talk up with time in the film / weight /practice room. Which is how champions are made.
