Sanchez cleared up what he said:

So I guess we're not the only market with asshole news reporters. This makes more sense, as it seemed very out of character for Sanchez to say something like that. Always was one of the more classier players I've seen.

I thought it was an interesting choice to take the job in Philly. The fans there are very tough on players they think are under-achieving and not meeting expectations. So Sanchez basically told himself to put up or get out if he ever gets on the field. It won't take long for a bad performance to start the boobirds howling.

The other thing is that Nick Foles put up numbers last year that most QB's couldn't get close to if they tried and Sanchez isn't as good as most QB's.

He wasn't a good QB. When you're paying a guy that much and when you draft a guy that high, you expect to get a franchise QB. He never lived up to his draft position. So that's where the "hate" stems from. He had his moments and I give him his credit. Btw he was one of the biggest reasons why we didn't make the SB. Since this is a team sport it's not fair to blame him 100%. But since he was the starting QB and the leader of the offense he definitely gets his share of the blame.

Okay that makes more sense. Then I'll take back my earlier comment.

That's funny because in doing so, he declared war on some reporter. Keep an eye on Dan Hanzus from NFL.com

No he was not one of the biggest reasons we didnt win the Super Bowl. He was not, the 2012 team had NO CHANCE, the 2011 team had a chance but making three straight championship games had NEVER been done before by a new head coach/QB. So we are only talking about 2009 in which Sanchez did his share in both championship games to win, especially 2009. The Jets had an 11 point lead, Feeley missed 2 FGs, the defense collapsed, and we lost. Cant blame Sanchez for not making the Super Bowl in the 2009 season.

Here is a true fact, if Sanchez had either the Saints defense (that held the Colts to 17 and had a pick 6) or the Ravens defense (that held the Colts to 20 and gave the offense so many opportunities) the Jets win that game. The Jets defense fell apart, simple as that. Sanchez was not the one who fell apart when it mattered.

Wow that's a REALLY bad misrepresentation of Sanchez's comments then by that (cough) reporter. Especially considering Sanchez always has taken the high road in the past vis-a-vis his treatment here.

I normally hate the constant 'bash the media' meme here for every little thing but they make it hard not to bash them with sensationalist crap like this. Not even mildly surprised it was a Post writer that did that.

Yawn. The Jets offense didn't score in 4/8 quarters in AFC Championship games and didn't break 20 points in either game.

Why is it so hard for everyone to realize the team made a few mistakes and their margin for error was thin and that was the reason they lost. Part of the reason the Jets didn't have HF advantage in 2010 and 2009 again falls on the team and the offense and defense and special teams.

    Team effort

They would have broken 20 if Feeley didnt miss 2. The defense fell apart and Peyton Manning went into god mode. Manning didnt play anywhere as good as he did in the Super Bowl, if he had, he doesnt throw that pick 6.

Yes let's give Sanchez credit for the positives, and only the positives. Did you just read what you wrote? If you watched those AFC Championship games you can't say he didn't play a big role in those losses. You can't watch the 2011 Jets and say he didn't play a big role in the failure of that season. The 2012 Jets were a bad team and even then he failed to control what he could control.

You know what's funny? in minicamp when he just started throwing for the first time in months and was bad we heard all about it but he's having a great training camp so far and not a peep.

He did a lot of good things for us, I appreciate what he did. it's sad we have "fans" that don't.

Not his fault the front office sabotaged his Jets career.

It was a team effort, he and the O helped win games, the D helped win games and so did STs.

we lost some games he played poorly in but we lost some games the D blew or STs blew too.

if our D played like a big time D in the title games we would have at least won one of them.

Its funny to you that Jets fans don't give a shit about the Philadelphia Eagles backup QB having a good camp? Should we start a thread with constant updates on his progress? Maybe we can do the same with Kellen Clemens.. I heard he's looked great in Chargers camp.

-to the original point- expectations are different for a backup vs. a high draft pick starter. That's what Sanchez is feeling. It's less about one fanbase being nicer than others and more about being anonymous now. That's good for his career. He's a laid back guy and would do better in a more laid back position...backup QB. He doesn't have the focus overall to be a successful starter.

He will play awhile as a backup in this league if he is smart and doesn't sign somewhere next year where he tries to be a starter.

It's funny though how you guys loved to talk about the eagles backup QB when he struggle din minicamp.

To the original point- ONCE AGAIN you are reading quotes out of context. stop doing that and you will stop having issues on this board.

It was one fucking sentence from Mark Sanchez junc. There's not really much to read into....

But, Ok- I will use "context" from here on out. If you just tell me what context to use I should be good. Considering A) "context" is subjective to one's opinion.. and B) you never actually share what the fuck you are talking about with your "context".

someone posted his explanation, if you read it you wouldn't have had these issues just as if you read the quotes from the players yesterday you wouldn't have been confused either.
