I have no clue, I was denied entry into Canada recently so im not going to get on a plane and travel to another continent only to get turned around in the airport in the middle of Germany.
Well shouldn't you consider finding out what the problem was so that you can correct it? It's a bit extreme to just write off international travel for the rest of your life, especially if you don't know why they rejected you. I'd burn some calories trying to figure out what's going on - the US Embassy in Canada exists for exactly this reason- helping to resolve those kinds of problems. What if the customs officer just had a bad day, felt you were "suspicious", and rejected you? Or perhaps there's some error in some database- that you can have corrected if you alert the appropriate people. Try to figure out what went wrong and then see if you can fix it.
No it wasnt an error, it was just the customs officer acting like a jackass. She said I looked "suspicious", so they x-rayed all my baggage, x-rayed everything I had, even x-rayed me and nothing found at all, yet I still was denied entry.
Wow Stokes. Aren't you an unlucky guy. As a Turkish passport holder who had entries to Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq in his passport, I was admitted to USA and Canada yet you were denied entry to Canada. What did you do at the border? Did you act like a jackass or what? really funny
If you were rude/upset when they started being unpleasant, that's all it takes. They have all the power. If you annoy them when they're in a bad mood, they're going to kick you out just to spite you. Never escalate things or act rude back if they're rude to you. Act apologetic instead. It's not a cable customer service rep where you're just two people arguing- you gotta play it differently and recognize that this is an uneven playing field. You also have to have the hotel name and address memorized, and be able to explain why you're visiting. It's considered very suspicious if you don't know where you're staying, the dates, and the addresses. And don't just assume that all customs officers are going to boot you in the future- it's actually rare that they turn people away. I'd still ask the embassy in advance and get advice for next time, and just remember to be prepared for the questions, dress like other tourists, don't wear sunglasses, and respond to any attitude with apologetic kindness.
Yeah I know, ill have to get it sorted out because I do intend to relocate to a different country in the future.
Wouldn't it be funny if you set sail for Oz Down Under with the intent on becoming a Sydney Swan fan only to be turned away at the gate because of your compelling, intimidating presence?....and that you ended up a like some Philip Nolan piloting the Mobro? "Where the hell am I?..." But I doubt lighting would strike twice as far as custom agents go 'mate' (Aussies being affable chaps for the most part), so bon voyage and enjoy the wildlife down under "Welcome to Oz soxxx, now I'm going to bite your fuqkin' hand off, mate."
That was Soxx not me. I've been all over the world without ever even a sniff. I'm TSA PRE now so I don't even have to wait in the main security line and I can leave my belt and shoes on. Woohoo. _
Sorry Stokes. I meant soxxx but not sure how I wrote Stokes. I can't imagine you having a problem but soxxx on the other hand is a different story.
This is going to happen again in 5 years because it's perversely in each's interest. The fighting will stop eventually but but nothing will change. Rinse and repeat.
A thread about the Israeli-Hamas tilt turns into tales about soxxx being banned in Canada and soxxx hoping to overcome his foreign travel trepidation in order to sail off to Oz? Yeah, I think he just might be trolling Soxxx to jr. soxxx, 2018: "I'm showing your mother how quarterbacks played back in the old country, son...."
Its not a joke, I am leaving for Australia once when I am in the financial position to do so. (Getting citizenship appears to be another battle but I will handle that when its time for me to go.)
