-I said he shouldn't have hit her. I said he shouldn't have hit her. I said he shouldn't have hit her. I said he shouldn't have hit her. I said he shouldn't have hit her. Okay let's get to the next point. -The situation should've been handled better by both Rice and his girlfriend. Ok let's get to the next point. -THEY BOTH made a mistake in the heat of the moment. Emotions were running high and neither one of them were thinking straight. Ok let's get to the next point -SHE SHOULDN'T HAVE SPIT ON HIM. That occurred in the heat of the moment. Why would she spit on her future husband, no rationally thinking person especially a woman would spit on her husband. But due to the heat of the moment she did. -HE SHOULDN'T HAVE HIT HER. Why would a rational thinking person knock his wife out? Because he wasn't rational at that moment, due the heat of the situation. Ok let's get to the next point. Not thinking straight and his judgement being impaired with anger he knocked her the fuck out. Do I condone knocking out a woman? NO. But do I understand WHY he did it? Yes. A combination of anger/emotions getting the better of him/plus the flat out disrespect. Ok let's get to the next point. HE should be accountable for his mistake as well as his girlfriend. When you hit a woman in America they are protected by the law regardless whether they're right or wrong. By spitting on Rice (a big no no) her accountability came in the form of getting knocked out, and then getting sent to jail. Ok my last point. Neither one of them were more right or wrong in this situation. Both were wrong. Both played an equal role in the situation. They've gone to counseling and it seems as if they've moved past this. She even defended him after the fact and acknowledged her role in the situation. Yet grown men in here are making excuses.
The thread was about Ray Rices suspension for hitting a woman. You think it is acceptable to hit a woman, good for you. The bullshit about accountability has nothing to do with the right or wrong of Ray Rice for punching a woman for spitting on him. He was wrong, PERIOD. Had he not been wrong he would not currently been in pre-trial intervention, he would not be suspended a lowly 2 games and we would not have this thread.
Except you've condoned men knocking out women for being spat on dozens of times in this tread. Now you're backtracking because you realize what a misoginistic and immoral indefensible position that is. At least you're learning. _
I agree he should have been suspended. 2 games is appropriate. The suspension has to do with his personal conduct and I'm fine with the NFL holding him to a higher standard. You're paid millions, don't act like an idiot.
He has changed his tune because he realizes what an ass he's sounded like for pages now. If it were me, I'd try to go back and delete all of those posts so there wasn't a record. I don't know any of you, you're all strangers who I'll never meet, but I wouldn't even want total strangers on the Internet to think I felt that way. _
Big be got 4 for alleged sexual assault, and I think that was where the measuring stick for this one lies. The bigger question will come in the Irsay thread a month or so from now.
Maybe if you paid attention i said it plenty of times and I def don't give a fuck about women getting hit any more than i care about a man getting hit. Having a vagina does not make you special. Do I need to say it again?
It's life you jackass. It's not about "equality" under the law or anything like that. Or special privileges or anything. If you are a man you don't hit a woman. Fuck. Do you really need someone to tell you how it's different if a man hits a woman vs. a woman hitting a man? What the fuck is wrong with people.
Again its not about damage its respect. Just because physical damage hasn't occurred doesn't make it ok. Im from south philly, go spit n someone there and see what happens since its ok. Man or Woman, go ahead.
Oh I understand it. I could actually help you fashion your argument to make you sound less like a misogynistic low life but this is more fun. _
