I respect the hell out of Revis' skills, but damn, I loathe his "ME" attitude.

Who says any of those teams will be Super Bowl contenders paying that amount? As I already pointed out, Sherman doesn't start making $14 mil until after this season. Last season Seattle won the Super Bowl paying peanuts to their cornerbacks. Likewise, last year Denver's top corner was making $5 million (not $9.5) ... and they didn't win the Super Bowl. The Patriots? They paid Talib $5 mil last year.

These teams giving eight, nine or ten (14? LMAO) million to a cornerback this year? It destroys your ability to stock your team with quality depth and handle significant injuries.

You're a GM and have $16M to improve your team. Which group of players do you invest in:

    Group A:
    Darelle Revis $16,000,000

    Group B:
    Dee Miliner $3,156,250
    Sheldon Richardson $2,513,500
    Quinten Couples $2,200,699
    Calvin Pryor $2,140,813
    Mo Wilk $1,717,750
    Geno Smith $1,294,901
    Jace Amaro $1,073,248
    Demario Davis $704,490
    Jeremy Kerley $556,063
    Snacks $482,333
    $15,840,000

How is this thread one of the top ones in the forum when we just started training camp? Give up the Revis love guys, he is the enemy now

Wow. Great point. I never thought about this before. With all the excitement being generated about the potential of our already solid defense taking it to the next level this year, Revis could have helped make us one of the top defenses in the league (if not the top) provided, of course, he is back to being the same player he was before the ACL tear.

I think he signed a two year deal with NEP. But the second year the salary is so superhigh, over 20 mil. No matter how great he is this season he's not getting that. So either Revis is a one year wonder for them or he agrees to a smaller deal with Belichick.

One more thing. It wasn't Idzik or Rex that wouldn't sign him. Or even talk to them. It was the owner.

I know this is trifling, but to be fair, Revis is playing for $12 mil this season?

Here's one of many http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/20...s_wanted_to_reunite_but_jets_brass_didnt.html. Pretty common knowledge after all of the hubbub with Revis and his agent over the years. That the owner was the force behind his trade and Jets disinterest in having him back. And here's another one.http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/myers-nightmare-rex-turning-green-article-1.1720023. My conjecture (and this is a fan's site. I don't have to have proof for everything. I'm not a journalist) is that Idzik did what he was told by Woody. But in my opinion he wouldn't have personally minded re-signing him.

And rightfully so. Twice Revis turned his contract into a clown show ... and once it was on television.

You realize, of course, that the NJ article is based on the Daily News story, right? So you have one source that cites no one and quotes nobody. "

"I am not a journalist." No shit - and not much of a reader either.

Bad blood, burned bridges and salary cap figures aside...... Anyone that doesn't think Revis back on this team with the current front seven / interior pass rush that this team will have (that never had when he was here before) would make this defense STRAIGHT NASTY is in denial like a jilted lover.......

It's an irrelevant scenario even in hypothetical terms because we already have Group B and in real life, it's not a matter of having to choose one over the other. In reality, we could have had both Groups A and B with somewhere around $10-12,000,000 leftover in available CAP space for this year if we don't bother with the Patterson signing as was so aptly pointed out by BacktoQueens.

Then what kind of quotes do you want. The best I can do is the beat reporter. What do you think Woody is going to do admit he hates Revis. Basically it's common knowledge that the owner doesn't want Revis back. Can I prove it NO. Kind of hard to deal with dumb ass comments like these. Get a life.

Sure, for a season maybe. But you're thinking like Tanny....the GM who got fired. Trade every draft pic and spend every penny to win NOW!!! And if you do get to the SB you better win it b/c you won't be sniffing another one for 40 years.
