Phins training camp

I got the pleasure of attending the phins first training camp yesterday just outside ft Lauderdale with a friend who is a die hard fan.
To start it was so hot it was almost unbearable in the stands which bodes well for them in the conditioning department.

A lot of my attention was spent surveying the first team offense and defense but it became difficult as philbin likes to rotate his team in five minute intervals moving them in four units around the two fields.
The very first snap for 7 on 7's with Tannehill under center results in a time out with resounding boo's from the stands.
Following the time out Tannehill fumbles the snap and the defense recovers (crowds reaction was priceless), Tannehill would go follow to fumble three more times on snaps throughout the practice.
90% of their offense was wr bubble screens or dump offs to Charles clay due to the fact the D line was getting to Tanne in a heartbeat. ( Every single one of these passes was either dropped or instantly tackled)
On the one throw Tannehill attempted to throw over two yards he clearly underthrew Wallace on a go route that had a safety overtop and grimes playing Wallace on the inside hip. He had zero touch on deep ball and just flung it up in the air hoping Wallace would come down with it. He was very fortunate it wasn't picked as it bounced just inside grimes hands

Matt Moore seems to still be the most overpriced backup in the league and the best qb on the fins. He was decisive in the pocket, picked up pressure well and knew when to throw away the ball.
Their D-line had a nice push but it was hard to say if it was from poor O-line play or a dominating line. Dion Jordan our favorite juicer was invisible being swallowed up by the o line.
Their rb's looked unspectacular but hard to judge due to no pads and lack of real tackling.
Jarvis Landry which many of us wanted looked smooth and crisp in his routes. He obviously has the hands of a wr just not sure if he will hold up due to his size.

Brandon Gipson also looked like the best wr out on the field, catching everything thrown to him as well as showing speed and tenacity.

Charles Clay was the star of the day catching at least three short dump off's and pushing up the field.

Charles Finnegan and Brent Grimes will be a formable backfield for the fish. They both are good cover corners who showed a nose for the ball as well as good jams on the line.
Overall it was the first TC practice but a 3rd year QB should have had a better showing. Tannehill looked unsettled, uncertain and almost seemed to not care. If this is going to be the trend for the team this year there is no doubt they will be in the bottom of the barrel.

 

This is true, but without pouncy in the middle or a very rust pouncy coming off his injury with our d line in full swing we should eat them alive
