http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/...-jets-were-072514?cmpid=tsmtw:fscom:nflonfox\ Am I the only one who thinks this is great?
Hmm interesting the Jets didn't even try to negotiate with him. I guess Idzik is not a fan. Also why is Revis saying this at Pats camp? Just something you don't say.
I recall hearing about his agent reaching out by text. Does that really sound like he gave it his best shot to come back here?
Hes on a one year contract in New England, tbh though hes 29 and he has to come up big if he wants another big deal. He probably wants 4-5 years but im telling ya, the back end of that contract he will decline.
Exactly, never cared about the "team" aspect of football. He only was concerned about his own personal performance so he can go home and get paid. Dont believe me? watch Revis's postgame after we lost to the Steelers, he didnt care, he knew he played well but he didnt give a shit about the team losing. On the other hand we had guys like Jason Taylor who were crying and just seemed emotionally wrecked, while Revis was acting like it was no big deal.
I loved Revis when he was here..what Jet fan didn't. But I grew tired of that constant drama. Especially when the team stopped winning after 2010 and he became injury prone. He'll most likely be on a different team next year and the year after that and the year after that because of how his contracts are structured. Could've been a great Jet forever if he wasn't all about himself. Personally I think his act wasn't worth it anymore and I'm glad a reunion didn't happen. Wouldn't want the young guys on D following in his footsteps
We just don't catch a break as Jets fans. They finally draft a superstar who doesn't have off the field issues and the guy cares about money so much that they trade him off the team smh.
He said it right after he signed with the pats. He said back then the Jets were his only choice and money did not matter. When it was obvious Jets had no interest only then did he consider other teams. Now is that a bad thing for a rebuilding team that wants to start over with a younger secondary? I guess it depends upon your point of view. I liked Revis but I was happy to move on froma 30 year old CB and I like what I hear about McDougle. I don't have a problem with not signing Revis rather I have a problem with Woody holding a grudge and putting his ego first which may or may allow us negotiate with a player.
Ah even if he said it was his first choice then, still weird to repeat it. I'm just looking at it if Eric Decker said Denver was his first choice and then today after practice he repeats that, I would be annoyed. Nothing wrong with saying that, but it doesn't seem like the time or place, you know?
There was no point in negotiating with that fool..why would the Jets make an offer to him? So he can turn it down and then say publicly that he did? Screw that. He said it himself , he doesnt care what team he plays for, he'll play for the highest bidder. That's all anyone needs to know about Revis. Im all about a player getting his worth. But when greed enters the equation they can go screw. He was worth the 4 for 48 he got back in 2010. Not worth what the Pats are giving him now.
obviously he does care what team he plays for if he had his agent contact the jets first. he then went out of his way to tell the media about it and act as if it doesn't bother him.
Mevi$ deserves nothing from our FO after his numerous holdouts and his "hammy" injuries. Glad he is gone.
I know there are a thousand reasons that we shouldn't have signed him back, but can you even imagine if we did? How can you move the ball against a defense with our front line, a shut-down like Revis and an enforcer like Pryor? I agree with the decision to not even negotiate with him, but sheesh.
