Ill be shocked if the Cavaliers trade Wiggins right now. It would be a typical type of Cavaliers stupidity move. First off, there is no rush right now. Second, Wiggins might be better for the Cavaliers. Third, they probably dont even need to give up Wiggins if Love really does want to be a Cavalier.
This 8 minutes will forever haunt Spoelstra, Lebron, and Wade. Wade should have shut the door on the Mavs right here, instead he tried to allow Lebron to and it blew up in their face. As bad as Lebron was, internally from what I have heard, Wade took the blame, because he tried to allow Lebron to grow up rather than him just shut the door.
The only thing I question, is Wiggins a true shooting guard? I don't think it's good for the long run to be putting this guy at SG. His ball-handling skills aren't up to par. As you know a SG needs to have some sort of ball handling skills. I think he's better at SF, which is Lebron's natural position. Unless they move James to the 4 which appears to be a bad idea. Getting rid of Wiggins allows for them to end the Waiters drama as well.
Good question, I wouldnt worry about him to much on offense yet though. He is young and will have time to develop his game. If he is as good as expected on defense then that would be huge, because you could put him on any player and just have him take em out of the game. See I think a lot of the things that were wearing Lebron down, he has now in Cleveland to help out. Verajao will be huge in the rebounds department, Wiggins will be good as a solid defender. I really like the team a lot tbh.
I agree with this assessment. Wiggins will more than likely be the team's best defender by the end of the season. Lebron can now focus on his all-around game. Doesn't have to put up 30 7 7 for his team to win. I think right now this would be Lebron's best team in regards to all around play. Lebron's biggest fan was Oscar Robertson, always wondered if Lebron could average a triple double for a season hahah, you really never know. His efficiency should be off the charts
I agree, and I think they mesh a lot better than the big 3 in Miami did. IMO if I was a small forward, I would rather have an elite PG than an elite SG. Lebrons never played with that great PG either, and when Chalmers did actually raise his game, the Heat were really good.
That's when KD goes to Washington. The Bullets are clearing space for that offseason with the Pierce signing and have hired his high school coach as a player development assistant. That's what Wilbon is harping about.
Cavs will trade whatever for Love if they plan on beating Indy or Chicago. All Indy as to do is get Hibbert to play like he was first half of the season and they are right back in contention
Because the Twolves have no power in this trade if Love only wants to go to the Cavaliers. The Twolves are going to lose Love at the end of next season, so they will want to get something back at least right? Of course Now look at it from the other side, which teams will want to trade for Kevin Love? Teams that know he will resign. So if you are in the Golden State Warriors shoes, do you give up Klay Thompson if Love has not agreed to resign? Probably not. As of today, the only team that Love has publicly stated he will resign for is the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers have three first round draft picks next season, Dion Waiters, Anthony Bennett. IMO the draft picks alone would be enough for the Twolves to handover Love. From what I understand to, one of those draft picks is an automatic lottery pick, from the Grizzlies I believe? So really right now the Cavaliers control the whole trade, Twolves know they are losing him, Twolves know they have to get something back, and they might only have one trade partner (because no team is going to give up key assets if he wont commit to resign, it would be insanity). I dont see why the Cavs would be in any rush to make this trade either, unless Love is really threatening to go to Golden State, but even if he was....id still take Wiggins over him.
True that he controls the trade but will he want to wait a year to get that coveted max contract? That Warriors trade is intriguing and it does create a little urgency by Cleveland to throw in Wiggins. My god, if they keep Wiggins too...they will be very tough to stop. Yikes. Some of the power then shifts to the East. LeBron is no dummy. But you're right, the Cavs do have additional ammo to make this trade happen and the Wolves can't exactly bargain. The Wolves are probably trying to make the Warriors trade seem like a real deal to entice the Cavs to blink but I think you're right on this.
Yeah and you gotta look at it from Loves shoes to. If he gets traded to the Cavaliers, he will get PAID more than going there as a free agent, AND he will be on best team in the NBA (arguably). For him to choose between Golden State and Cleveland, I think its easy. Golden States not stupid either, they arent going to give up anything if Love wont commit, because it would destroy everything they had built. The ONLY other threat is some dumbass team jumping in here and trading for him without a commitment. I dont see that happening. The Lakers did it with Dwight, but it was for a full year, they failed to convince him to stay. The Nets did it with Deron Williams, they had him for a full season and a half to commit, and of course he did. (probably wish he didnt commit now)
The only reason why the Cavs would trade Wiggins now is if they think his stock is about to plummet completely. Even if they did have to give him up, (which is a mistake), the trade deadline is in February, that gives them months to examine Wiggins.
This is the not Cavs doing, this is Lebron showing the rest of the league how much power he now has over that franchise. It was no accident that Wiggins was not mentioned in his essay.
You'd think Lebron would be happy to mentor a young rookie like Wiggins. I'd be shocked if they traded him, with so much potential. You can't just look at the present. You need to plan for the future as well. If Lebron really sticks around and wants to retire there, it makes sense to keep Wiggins and develop him into something special.
It's not like we are rooting against you. I would like to see them win a title. I would also like to see Brooks improve that offense so it isn't Westbrook dribbles, KD doesn't force his way to his spot, KD either gets the ball at the 3 point line with 7 seconds left or fades into the corner, Westbrook has 7 seconds to make a move.
Possibly true, someone did say though that Wiggins was not technically signed at the time. (Its like a European player who gets drafted and never comes over, so while they were drafted, they were never part of the organization) But yeah I see your point and I thought the exact same thing to when he didnt mention him.
