I really dont think Pat Riley cares tbh. Hes gunna look like the good guy when he bolts in a year, by leaving the team with "something" rather than "nothing". They might be playoff team next year, who knows, it depends who they add. But yeah, that contract is horrible, especially the 4th and 5th years. Its like Amare 2.0, now lets see how much he hands Wade.
Of course they'll be a playoff team next year. It's not like the Hawks are all of a sudden going to remember that they matter again.
If Wade doesn't stay, or doesn't stay healthy, and they don't get Deng, I think them missing the playoffs is very much possible.
Wow. I thought it was a set percentage of the cap. This is part of why the NBA CBA is a complete joke. No way should Bosh be making anywhere near Lebron. They need to add a "he's over rated as fuck" clause.
Except the Spurs don't cheat and aren't led by a prettyboy that wears corduroy pants and other fashion that should have stayed in the 80s. Plus the Spurs head coach isn't over rated as fuck. He gets it done without relying completely on one guy to carry him. Plus the Pats haven't won shit in in like 7 years. I could probably go on for a while but I'll spare you all this time.
Bosh's deal isn't too bad when you take into account the cap should go considerably up when the new TV deals kick in and more than likely there will be a lockout in 2017 when either side is allowed to opt out of the current labor deal. And for everyone poking fun at Bosh making more than Bron, let's no forget Joe Johnson and Amar'e made more money than any member of the Big 3 last year.
And just as I said earlier, players are now flocking to Cleveland to play with LeBron. Mike Miller, Ray Allen, and Chris Anderson all in talks with Cleveland: Bulls about to land Gasol, which means Carmelo likely resigning in New York.
Well I missed a bit of news here it seems. Cole Aldrich back in NYK. Lamar Odom waived. Jeremy Lin in LA. Bosh back to Miami is kind of a surprise for me, I thought Houston was a great fit both the team and player, but he gets to be the star in Miami. Hopefully he still has CB4 in him still. Melo is taking his sweet time making a decision. Gasol to Chicago doesn't guarantee anything until we know the contract, but Melo might decide before we know that.
He took down the Cosa Nostra?!! soxxx, your accomplishments read like the Manhattan White Pages…..you're like the ultimate male. How (in your own words) did you do it?
You are also missing the fact that since Bosh is resigning in Miami, Miami gets Bird Rights which means they can offer 7.5% raises from your 1st year salary, and a 5th year, that other teams cannot do. If you leave your own team and sign outright to the max, like Lebron did, he only gets 4.5% raises from his 1st year salary. For example, Melo's max in NY is 5 years and 129 million. The max outside of NY is 4 years 96 million. Except with the yearly raises to get the max, the 5th year of the Knicks contract is the largest year salary wise, reaching almost 30 million while the first year of his max contract with or without NY is around 23 million. That first year is set on the above quote Falco had. Since Lebron and Bosh took less, they aren't at max salaries, so their first year bump next year is based on a lower amount so their contracts cannot reach Melo's level. The NBA salary cap, you basically need a degree to figure it out. Bird rights is the easy one to follow since it has been in all the Melo discussions. Anything else, I just go straight here: http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm
Cleveland is gonna be nasty if they get all these guys. Lebron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, Mike Miller, Ray Allen, and Chris Anderson. Wow
Lebron: I don’t want anyone thinking: He and Erik Spoelstra didn’t get along. … He and Riles didn’t get along. … The Heat couldn’t put the right team together. That’s absolutely not true. Then he goes to Cleveland and they put together half the players from the year before he got his ass kicked in the finals. LOL.
Of course him and Riley didn't get along. I have been saying that for years but all the Miami fans do is bring up the "La Familia" bullshit that they apparently had. How everyone in that organization is a family, blah blah blah.
