But that depends on the team no JS? The bulls with Jordan had a real tough road..but who cares..people bet the Bulls all they could.

Of course that factors into it, but that has nothing to do with my point. I've never argued against that, although I would bet that by the end of NBA FA, those odds are definitely lower since there are still a lot of moves to be made, and that path you perceive as it is now isn't going to be the same path Lebron had in 2013.

In the long run..exactly...that's it. That's the goal..but don't tell you local bookie that. If the local bookie sees loser money all going one way...they will roll the dice.

No..they really don't if they believe their bet is so solid JS...they really do not. Maybe a conservative guy who places little bets like yourself does...but not the betting public.

I feel it does a great disservice to Jeremy Linsanity that he got a tiny mention in this thread and all anyone is talking about is Vegas odds.

Nope. The Bulls were always the betting favorite because not only were they the best team, they were also the team that was as much of a lock just to get there. No one in the West was dominant enough that they could lay claim to the conference preseason.

The Bulls were ALWAYS getting to the finals because if Jordan AND they were ALSO the favorites to win it all.

There is no one in the West now that can lay claim to be the best in the eyes of the betting public. That's why players are shying away from going to western teams BECAUSE the road is so tough.

Actually that right there tells you your answer. Why would Melo or Lebron want to go to the West and have to face those teams, so much easier in the East.

Ok...Im placing a bet in football this year. Am I more inclined to bet on the Seahawks or the Broncos. Seahawks have the 49ers in their division..right? Is that your point? If the betting public is so in love with the Seahawks first..and then the 49ers second..and then the Broncos third..with no idea of the path..that will be the odds to win it all when the season starts. Im sorry...I have seen it too many times.

For a guy like you who sitting there checking out everything from a to z...I get that...but after Vegas puts their odds out..and the public has at it..and this is the important part that I was not perhaps explaining well, if the public feels the Seahawks are the best team and the 49ers are the second best team...they will be one two in the odds. They just will be.

The bet is a solid one because of the path to the finals.

Lebron and Melo stayed in the East precisely for that reason.

Why go to a Western team and possibly not even have a chance to get to the Finals.

That's the bet, the odds why the Cavs are the top odds.

Not because of stupid Cav fans or stupid Lebron fans feeling solid about their bets.

The Broncos--after getting killed by the Seahawks are the slight favorites to win the next SB next year for EXACTLY that reason.

I'd actually be interested in seeing who Vegas placed best odds on when Jordan decided to play baseball...

JS..the bolded part..we just disagree. There is no way I would buy that. If the best overall talent loved teams by the public are in the same conference..they will be 1,2.3 in the odds bud. We just disagree. I have seen it too many times..that's why I asked Soxxx who the top 3 teams were..he never answered.

its not that JS..its the moves in the off season on their defense. Its the repeat...its not that bud. Hey..I think its not that by tracking odds year to y ear..at least I used to..we just disagree.

But I thought you said that you believe any team that Lebron is on is the odds on favorite to make it to the finals?

How is this even still going on? The Cavs odds went from 60-1 to 10-1 with just the rumor of Lebron going to Cleveland. The bookmakers are covering their asses, nothing more, they were already the most heavily betted team before Lebron was even officially going there. I don't understand why someone who doesn't bet or have any idea how odds work would even care about such things, let alone argue about it for hours.

Probably because it's 55 days until opening kickoff and this is mainly a football message board.

Anybody want to talk about top fuel drag racing?
