    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-johnson-wants-a-trade-four-teams-interested/

Who do you guys believe are the 4 teams? I would assume the Panthers are one of them.

Just heard this on the radio

Browns, panthers most likely IMO. Don't see why you think packers and saints would be in the mix at all.

If I read the story right Andre Johnson told Ian Rapaport he'd like a trade and 4 teams are interested in trading for him. The only question I have is why he didn't say 8 or 12. If you're going to float the idea that there's a trade market for your $10M salary it seems like it would make sense to float it larger.

Well if he wants to play for a legit preseason contender that removes some of the names mentioned so far from the running (assuming he has a choice)

Would the Texans trade him to a contender in the AFC?

You did name four teams, but I don't think the Saints are a realistic possibility. The Cowboys and the Saints have the worst cap situations in the league right now, very little room for maneuverability.

I don't see the Jets taking him either, because Idzik is not going to trade them an early round pick, and he won't want to pay Andre Johnson big money given the fact that he's held out and won't have had any practice playing with Geno. He'd have to be willing to come in cheap, and the Texans would have to be desperate to dump him for a late round pick, and I just don't see either of those things happening.

He will probably be back with the Texans, and just lose a lot of money in fines, and then seek a trade after the season.

I think the Panthers are the more logical choice. Out of the conference and the Panthers desperately need another play-maker.

Yeah, I don't see him having much value in a trade at this point. The Texans would have to fire-sale him to get interest and even then he'd have to rework his deal to take less money. I just don't see it happening.

DeSean Jackson had like 4 or 5 teams interested in trading for him too, in his mind.

Andre is a better player than DeSean and this is post-draft with a few teams still very thin at WR. There will definitely be interest. It depends what compensation the Texans feel is worth it to take the cap hit for over just preventing him from playing for anyone else.

Who said anything about an early pick? For a 34 year old? With a 10M contract? DeSean Jackson didn't even net a 7th round pick and he's in his prime. Houston will get nothing for him. Demarcus Ware, Jared Allen, Darrelle Revis...none of them netted a pick. Teams today just wait out a situation once it goes public.

He's 34! Comparing him to DeSean for future use is not a fair game.

Andre Johnson is a fool who believed he was too smart to need an agent and this is what always happens to him. He never got the deals that megatron and Fitzgerald got because he insisted on representing himself and he failed. Making himself available now when FA and the draft ended alone shows you how he needed an agent.

He's still a better receiver then DeSean even at 34. Physical receiver you can't beat at the LOS, he'll beat you short, intermediate, and down the field.

Jackson isn't the total package, not even close.

Replace Jets, with Patriots and you're probably right. Johnson would be scary on the Patriots. That team has been getting by without premium receivers for years, imagine what they'd do with one. That would make them instant AFC super bowl favorites.

I kind of wonder what the Texans would do if much of the remainder of the money on the deal was not guaranteed. They're not in the same position the Eagles were in with Jackson. They're on the hook for a good amount of money over the next few years and unlikely to cut Johnson even if things become ugly at this point.

They have a bunch of good guys entering year two that are expected to take the next step so it's not like they really need him as bad as the Panthers do.

Looks like somewhere about $20.5M is still guaranteed which would cover this years and next years salary but not 2016 and none of the work out bonuses. If he doesn't report they could just use the same designation the Jets used on Goodson so they wouldn't have to pay him but they retain their rights to him.

What's interesting is that the Texans can't resolve this by cutting him without taking a big cap hit and still owing him a lot of money. It's not like they can just walk away in the end if things gets really sour. If there's no trade market for him he kind of has them over a barrel at this point.

Says you. I don't agree. And at that age, why would a GM take a guy like that to build his young talented team into the future while at the same time constraining his cap space? Jackson takes the top off of coverage and can be used on screens and punt returns and he knew Marty's offense and would have better complemented Decker. If they didn't go after DeSean, I don't see this happening as the financial price is even higher. He's not better. And certainly not for this team.
