Not if this story is accurate.

Apparently Melo is waiting out on hopes of Phil Jackson moving pieces to clear $40 million, which is VERY possible. He would have to deal a lot of people, but it can be done.

The source with Melo is saying that he doesn't want to team up with LeBron outside of New York and that he is willing to take a pay cut to play with him.

I now JS will think Im saying this because Im a homer Knick fan but other then the Heat, if there is a way, you just cant dismiss it.

If one thing we learned about these guys with all the rings ala Riley, they tend to do their best work the first year...and I really believe something is brewing and it aint Miami for Lebron.

Nobody can tell me that Lebron, Bosh, Wade and McRoberts and Granger are the keys to putting that team over the top and if thats the roster? Thats all they can afford and that will not cut it for Lebron.

"According to a friend of Anthony’s, Melo has held out faint hope Knicks president Phil Jackson can pull a miracle and clear out the necessary salary-cap space to get it done, but he is running out of time. Anthony’s decision could come in the next couple of days.

It would require Jackson to ship out Amar’e Stoudemire and Andrea Bargnani’s expiring contracts, and for Anthony and James to take less than the max. Iman Shumpert might have to be dealt, and the rights to Jeremy Tyler renounced.

One report said Jackson conceivably can move $40 million under the cap with a flurry of moves — as long as he doesn’t take back salary.

“He really wants LeBron to come to New York,’’ the source said. “That’s his dream right now. Phil is trying to get it done.’’"

Marc Berman story. If Isola, Woj, Stein, Spears, or someone else reports something similar, well then start up the engines and find that box of Nike orange/blue witness shirts they never could sell. But if it's just Berman, ehhhhhh

Are you a Knicks fan? All my Knick fan friends despise Lebron. It would be really funny to see their reactions. Like a painful orgasm. Haha gross.

Huge Knicks fan. I've loved and followed LeBron since his Cleveland days. I have two of his Cleveland jerseys back in my closet.

If he went to New York I would have a very "pleasing" Orgasm :)

JS explains it well but that is a real desperate move by Riley..giving Wade 4 years? Paying him 14 million for year 3 and 4?

Most importantly, does anyone really believe that Lebron even thinks Wade is a selling point at this time in his career? Wade? He is falling apart faster then the team itself.

Either Riley is about to blow us away with something blockbuster that my mind cant fathom or this team is on its way down a long slippery slope. If there was anything in the cards to prove that wrong, Lebron would have said ok a week ago.

It's not desperate really. It shifts the cap hit across years. Smart move if it means keeping Lebron.

It's not that Wade is staying, it's that there is now room for Lebron to get the max/sign other pieces.

Wade is only a part of this because he would be taking less money and thus freeing up room.

Of course you are not...because my point is that signing with Miami gives him no better chance then signing with 4 or 5 teams JS...there is nothing in Miami to attract him at this point.

Come on..do you really believe WADE is a selling point for him? Bosh holds more water at this point in his career then Wade. And for the 58th time, dont put words in my mouth bud...IM NOT saying he ends up with the Knicks...but if you were Lebron, you would rather play with Wade then Anthony?

It's damn near impossible for Phil to clear 40 million in cap space. If Melo signs for the vet miniumum they will still be over the cap.

Did you read what I posted?

It's not impossible. It is actually highly possible.

So basically what's happening in Cleveland right now and will definitely happen if Lebron doesn't end up back there this year
