I'm not an expert, the real experts are experts. The guys we never hear jack shit from. All the rest of that fluff you hear is made up crap based off of smoke screens the real experts feed your Internet draft gurus. _
None of this matters. There are no "experts". NFL GM's have proven time and again that they are no better than the average informed fan when it comes to drafting players. Our opinions are as valid as theirs. The difference is they have the power to enforce theirs.
I'm not doubting what has already occurred. He was a 2nd round pick. I have no issue with that. I actually think it helped the Jets as well as Geno's future more (in regards to motivation). You haven't said one positive thing about him in this whole thread. He's shown positive traits as a QB. He hasn't arrived and he may never, but the traits he displayed it's something to build off and he's earned my support after hating the acquisition initially. Why didn't anyone move up to grab Aaron Rodgers? These scouts look too much into these players during the draft process. Teddy should not have fell that far. The draft process is brutal. Stocks drop like it's nothing. I think the way Geno carried himself during the draft process led to his down-fall. He made some bad choices.
Huh? Lol but Tebow was drafted in 2010, you said I probably wasn't watching back then. That was funny.
This is a Geno is the Worst QB in the league thread, stop whining if I'm not prepared to defend him in this thread because I've done it in plenty of others, have said plenty of good things about his skills but I'm not going to be a homer and deny that he doesn't have some major issues. One of the most important qualities in a franchise QB first and foremost--football IQ. He can have all the arm in the world but if he can't see what's going on around him, it doesn't matter. And he NEVER had a downfall. He was always what he was, stop making excuses about how he carried himself. Real scouts saw him for what he was. _
He did have a down-fall, wherever you think so or not. Look at the recent QB draftees that fell in the draft (Manziel, Bridgewater, Geno). When / Why did their respective stocks fall? I'll give you a clue, it wasn't during the season. Real scouts appeared to be wrong, I don't see this guy as a diva or whatever Nolan Nawrocki said. To me, he seems like a guy that wants to work and succeed.
Lol ranking a rookie qb last that had a trash offense's back-ups to work with but still helped get 8-8 regardless. ESPN is a joke. The other NY QB led the league in turnovers and had Hakeem Nicks & Victor Cruz as his targets. Hell their slot guy randle probably had a better season than a few of our guys combined and got what 6 wins (mostly all in one winning streak). The damn Raiders couldnt even keep a steady starter they were both trash. Schaub and his back up in houston were throwing pick 6's like they were getting paid for it. EJ MAnuel was trash and injuredm (yeah he cooked us in buffalo though i know). What about Josh Freeman? This is bull shit
this ranking was done by the following: I asked 26 league insiders to grade every projected starting quarterback on a 1-5 scale, with "one" reserved for the best and "five" for the worst. Eight general managers, two former GMs, four pro personnel evaluators, seven coordinators, two head coaches, two position coaches and a top executive participated, attacking the project with gusto almost across the board. so it wasn't just some schmucks at espn writing up a list.
Say something nice about Geno Smith as a QB without condescension or back handed compliments/statements. I swear I've never seen it. And I stop by everyday and depending on the discussion I may stay longer.
Put up or shut up. Two weeks. Otherwise take it back. Because I don't like being called a liar. Even by strangers. On the Internet. _
We will know what we have in Geno this season, he was terrible last season, he's had a year to grow an some new weapons, lets all just hope he pans out, out were back to square one
