The guy's life is circling the drain and you want to trade a fourth for him? No way. He can't even prove to be a functional adult at this point.
His choice of associates has to change first off, Haydn “Fats” Thomas just invites trouble. Until he does not nothing is going to change.
Absolutely. And we should also throw a whole bunch of guaranteed money at him too, with a massively front loaded signing bonus. _
Cris Carter had a substance abuse problem during his early years in NFL and turned his life around to become great. It is possible for Gordon to do the same
Very idiotic decision for Josh Gordon. He should have never been in this situation but he blew a .09 when the legal limit was .08 so it's not like he was out of his mind. His biggest mistake imo was having a convicted felon bail him out. This probably seals his year long vacation from the NFL but if he can wise up he comes back a top 5 WR in this league if it's Johnny or Geno throwing him the ball. The year he had with Weeden/Hoyer/Cambell as his Qbs doesn't get talked about enough to have that bad of QB play and still put up 1647 yards in 14 games to go with 9 touchdowns is insane. He has some serious soul searching to do while he sees his former teammates play this year but if he can get back on the right track he can still be one of the top playmakers for the next decade in the NFL.
Normally with "only" one DUI, I wouldn't say that. But he's been suspended from the NFL multiple times for a recreational drug despite massive financial penalties, and I think he had problems in college as well. So taking all that together, he sounds like an addict. The alternative is that he's a moron.
Maybe when Gordon has 1000 more receptions under his belt or 10,000 more yards or 115 more TD's or at least half of those numbers then maybe just maybe it can be a topic for conversation.
It is possible, but the league is different nowadays. Chris Carter's cocaine use that got him cut would have ended up with him getting a suspension. Carter wouldnt have had the structure of football for at least a few weeks and like we are seeing with gordon during this offseason that can be problematic for troubled players. How many players in the 80s and early 90s would have been suspended if they had to deal with drug testing?
MY comment has nothing to do with talent If he can get his life in order and on track then he can get back to being a top wr in the league he is still young and has a lot to learn but im pretty sure whats going on with im him off the field out weighs his football skills right now
