Lost in the World Cup, "The Championships" at the A.E.L.T.C.

Assuming the top seeds survive the 1st week: Rafa's been given a tough draw. Fed with his best chance to nab his 18th GS title (on grass); could run into fellow countryman Stan Wawrink in the quarters. Djokovic-Berdych would be another quarterfinal match that could go either way as well as Rafa's quarterfinal match should he face the big-serving Raonic. Murray looks like he has the easier quarterfinal match seed-wise in claycourt baseliner David Ferrer.

Rosol vs Nadal. Nadal should get revenge.

That Rosol upset was the best tennis I've seen against Nadal. The guy was just painting the line and out hitting Rafa to Rafa's forehand. Being able to do that just opens up the whole court.

True, and when he stepped up to the line to serve for the match he put any question of nerves to rest by easily holding serve and closing out the match. For 2014, I'd love to see Rafa and Fed face off in the semis.

    Yes with Fed winning :)

He needs one more and a Wimbledon would be nice.

Nadal has this Mike Mussina-type perfectionist way about him, that is, he likes things "set up" just so including the alignment of his water bottles. Rosol tried playing mind games with him yesterday during one of the changeovers. Didn't work as Rafa won going away and as it was reported, during that particular episode, Nadal had turned around and caught him doing what he did and just smirked:

Nadal has won all three matches in four sets. He dropped the first set in each match, to Klizan, Rosol, and Kukushkin.

Yeah Nadal has his water bottle thing. I'm actually surprised nobody has done it before. It would be one of the first things I would do to try and mess with him if I know I'm outmatched haha

1/2 seed on women's side out. Wide open Wimbledon now

Again Serena went out early. This time Sharapova fails to capitalize, losing to Kerber. The quarters would've been where Serena and Sharapova would've met. That's the next match, on Wednesday. Instead, it's Bouchard/Kerber.

Nadal knocked out but still gets points since he got bounced first round last year.

Federer/Wawrinka, the Swiss matchup. Would be happy with anyone from that quarter making the finals and winning:
    Fed, Stannis, Raonic, Kyrgios.

Wouldn't mind Dimitrov in the other quarters winning it.

I'm just throwing it out there but is this the biggest upset in the history of the modern era? I was looking up about Krygios and it looks like he was only 1-5 coming into Wimbledon for the year and had only made about 100K.

The problem is Nadal is not great on grass, as he's shown again and again. He keeps winning the French and then getting upset at Wimbledon. He's great on clay, good on hard courts, and I guess above average on grass. He doesn't get the bounce he needs. Last 3 years at Wimbledon: lost in the second round, lost in the first round, lost in the 4th round. The players he lost to: Lukas Rosol (zero notable accomplishments), Steve Darcis (the same), and Nick Kyrgios (had barely even played at the top level before Wimbledon). All three of those guys' careers can be summed up with: Did nothing but beat Nadal.* At least Kyrgios looks like he'll be a good player. The other two are journeymen.

But yeah, Kyrgios had no track record. I looked him up earlier this week. The only places he's done anything are on the Challenger circuit. He had zero success at actual top level ATP events.

*Rosol career record 43–59. Darcis career record 73–80. Kyrgios career record 3–7.

So the women's final is Bouchard/Kvitova.

Sharapova/Halep was the FO final and it was really set up for it to happen again, but they got upset.

Of the top 5 women's seeds, zero made the final and only one (Halep) even made the quarters.

Hard to not pull for Bouchard, I seriously can't think of any notable tennis players either mes or womens to come from Canada

Wait a second, Milos Raonic is Canadian and he's more accomplished than Bouchard.

No Canadian has ever won a Grand Slam singles title.

Two shots at it this event.
