Not so sure the fireworks being tonite are any better GD...thunderstorms are going to screw many tonite..hopefully with sunset they die off..not so sure. Direct hit? No way..storm will be about 150 miles off the coast but beach erosion..riptides..and of course heavy rain with some wind will be around...but nothing crazy.
Bracing for round 2. Yesterday's lightening strike did a good bit of damgage here. Hope todays storms are not that severe
after all the thunderstorms and stuff...sad thing is how many beaches will close tomorrow because of riptides and anybody down the shore..or up the shore...be careful out there...some will not and Im afraid there will be some bad stories.
Todays will cover a much bigger area and be less hit or miss..with many hits. Yeah FJF..there will be come huge ones today too. How do you know if you will be in an area that gets them? Rule of thumb is when thunderstorms are predicted...look outside in the next few hours. Is it sunny? Hot? Or cloudy and less sun. Areas that get hit the hardest are the areas where the sun is shining and the atmosphere is getting heated. That is where MOST of the time the storms are the worse.
I had to drive through all the storms yesterday. Some of the worst conditions I've ever driven through. Downpour, thunder, lightning.
man...models keep tracking this thing west...west..and each model is only doing by 10 or 20 mile at a time..but it adds up. If I were on Eastern L.I., I would keep an eye out for this. Im wondering if down in NC/SC if they really are heading the warnings. Its not a huge storm but 90 mile an hour winds and heavy heavy rain for people heading to the beaches...again...guys..at the beach tomorrow..riptides...be careful.
I was just outside trimming some hedges,,hot an sticky as balls out there,,,and yes sunny,,,,,,,got flash lights and batteries just in case,,,,,,they flickered a few times yesterday,,,,we shall see
Please track 'east' and blow out to sea.....hoping (Westchester Co.) the storm-related showers pass by by noon tomorrow (Friday the 4th). Jay, is that possible or do I have a better chance of seeing God?
Hot and sticky but no signs of storm clouds yet. It would be nice to be settled in at home before it pops off tonite And just checked the radar. Its going to be close
Joe...while I would love you to see God....me too...you have a decent chance that by noon tomorrow things are mostly past us...would feel much safe if you said 6pm..but noon is very possible bud.
Read post number 7205 FJF..those that see bright sunny skies..and very high humidity....usually get the more powerful storms. You will see the radar just explode in the next couple hours. The storms just form out of midair..blank screen and then boom. Its coming bud.
man..some powerful storms and it will only continue to grow. These storm usually explode between 5 and 8 pm..so this will fill in even more...big time. We lucked out today with the first batch..will not with the second LINK: http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/pennsylvania/weather-radar?play=1

Reporting from Madison, NJ No rain yet but clouds slowly coming our way. Could grill my steak so I am thankful that this thing didn't start yet.
weather.com upped chances in Portsmouth from 30% to 40% rain tonight. We'll see. Been windy all day. Accuweather says about 50-50 chance of rain the rest of the night.
