Well, Pau Gasol is still out there. He would need to take a pay cut, but it looks like he's willing to already. I think that's a shot in the dark though. I think LeBron not committing to Miami is in fact hurting them. Think about it. Lebron is claiming that he wants Riley to build a team and show him that he will make them better before he commits to another contract. Makes sense, in the small picture. But think about the big picture. If you are a free agent who is being recruited by Miami, would you full heartedly believe that LeBron was coming back to play with you? How is Riley pitching his team if the main reason players will flock to Miami, is not on the team? What's he telling people? Would you like to hopefully play with LeBron? If you sign here, maybe LeBron will come back? I think LeBron is hurting Riley, and it's awesome to watch. Players aren't gonna make a decision in hopes of LeBron returning. They will make a decision where they feel comfortable and where the money is. Discount? For what? To hope that LeBron resigns? You want a professional player to take a discount without knowing for sure what LeBron is doing? A lot of guessing going on in Miami.
