Yeah, I can't argue with this at all. I just think LeBron feels obligated to stay at this point. I think he wants to make his case known that they can not be the powerhouse they were and then move on. If he jumps ship now, I think a lot of people will shit on him. His agent is currently meeting with Houston, Phoenix, and Dallas. The most intriguing will be Houston. If they could move pieces around and sign LeBron, they would be instant contenders for years. Howard and Harden were the best PG/center duo in the NBA last season. Add LeBron and they are a scary ass team. Not to mention, no income tax in Texas, like Miami.

Carmelo was threatening to go to Brooklyn, did you know that? PROBABLY NOT. And I was posting on the realgm forums at the time, I was listening to the radio, I know the whole story inside and out. If there's anything we learned about Lebron, he doesn't feel obligated to anyone cept his own mother. I would like for Lebron to stay East (so that the West isn't overly stacked), but I know there's little or no options available in the East cept for the Heat / Bulls. God, I hope he doesn't go to Houston. They need to still get rid of Lin but who takes on Lin's contract is the main question?
Well, according to reports, if you want to believe them, there is a trade lined up already for Lin. If the Rockets need the room, they can pull the trigger. Here is a tweet from Howard Beck about it: "Rival exec tells me Rockets already have a Jeremy Lin deal lined up and ready to execute if they need the cap room to sign Melo or LBJ."
When you keep seeing guys sign elsewhere that the Heat were targeting, it makes you really believe that Miami is just a fuckin tool of a franchise. Riley walks around like he's God's gift to the world and thinks all of these guys will line up and take huge pay cuts just to sign with his beloved franchise. It's no wonder Miami is the most hated franchise in basketball. Fuck you Riley, you piece of shit. I love watching these guys like Gortat get the contracts they deserve elsewhere.

Im not over exagerrating, Wade was so bad that it would have been better for him to sit on the bench. Defensively he was horrendous, lazy, and just bad. Offensively he couldnt do anything, Lebron gave him easy points and he screwed em up multiple times. Interestingly all we heard before the finals was about how much more healthier he was this season compared to last. Healthier perhaps? Lazy? YES

You started off saying the Knicks didn't have to trade anything to Melo because it was a certainty he was going to become a FA and only wanted to sign with NYK, but now you are saying that Melo was threatening to go to New Jersey? (it was still NJ 2010-2012 seasons. BK was 2012-present) Which is it? Again, what I started this whole conversation saying is that the Knicks could not for sure let Melo hit FA and sign him. There was a bit of uncertainty in that plan. In hindsight, I agree, letting Melo walk to FA would have been a good move, still risky, but worth it since we know Dolan took control of the negotiations. But at the time, it was no certainty Melo was hitting FA because of the pending FA post CBA. Clearly overall you agree with me since you think the Nets were huge players in the Melo thing, so the Knicks couldn't let Melo hit FA. I don't agree the Nets were huge players, just the boogeyman the Nuggets used, and they baited Dolan into overpaying. Again none of this impacts the fact that the Nets overpaid for Pierce and KG and Terry. Too many picks for too old of a player that are paid too much. Prokhorov went Dolan on the league with that trade. Great FA moves and draft though. You just tried to make it seem like I'm a Knicks fan so I automatically try to disparage the Nets. It isn't true, I just saw the Knicksy type trade they made and instantly realized it was a bad move from years of experience. The Celtics had no leverage, yet the Nets ended up overpaying. Eerily similar to the Knicks and Bargnani, except the Bargnani was brutal, probably one of the worst trades in the last 10 years if we are talking pure overpayment.
Gortat to Washington for 60 over 5 years Meeks to Pistons for 19 over 3. Livingston to Warriors for 16 over 3. The Wizards might not like the last year or two of that Gortat contract, but it is worth to get him paid. Played great this year for them. Meeks seems like an overpayment but it's weird, you never know the NBA market past the max players. A guy who looked great because of D'Antoni. I wonder if that was the market price for Meeks, seems like a lot still. Livingston to Warriors I really like. Can play great defense and even though he struggles shooting, with that team, it isn't a must for them and their offense. Also great for him. He suffered that horrific knee injury on the Clippers (horrible to watch), but he's back and got back into the NBA and now has a nice contract on a good team.
Dolan freaked out because the Nets were going to trade for Carmelo whether he signed long term or not. The Nets thought that once when they brought him in they could convince him. Carmelo was not going to resign with them though, he always wanted to be a Knick and the Nets were just a ploy so he could get the Knicks to trade for him. The Knicks never had to give up anything because even if the Nets did get the expiring contract of Carmelo, he was going to become a free agent and was going to sign with the Knicks. Dolan saw the light and wanted it his possession ASAP.
