This is the typical case of a team that went farther then their potential says they should have and now guys reaping the benefits...I mean for Poul? 5 years? 20 million? Like the guy but he needs help and a lot of it. Now if you are going to replace these guys with 2 year 3 million guys..well...what to do. Amazing that that roster causes this team to have this much cap trouble. Bottom line is you pay for a horrible farm system...just ask Cashman and the Yankees.
Exactly MR..I mean..get the money if you are him...100 percent. Its just that you had the announcers all playoff long blowing him for doing well in his own zone. If you are looking for a stay at home guy to clean things up..then I guess that costs you over 5 million a year now because past the red line, he brought nothing. Would I have liked him back? Yep...would I pay that much? If we had the room I guess yeah...but Sather has created a roster filled with unmatching parts with no youth help at all. So...you pay less money for 38 year old defensemen and journeymen when this team needs at least 3 b+ players...and that is not happening this year.
