Booze, it's one of the places where Arabs sow their oats. But alcohol doesn't explain the entire experience. And now I need assistance of my own. "Stumping"?
I've been there a few times, it does alright. My plan all year was to go to Mongolia and Russia, but money and visa issues mean I'm having to skip it and just spend* a few months in Europe. Hoping to do a fair bit of Eastern Europe, hear great things about Estonia.
Very cool. And yes stumping is an odd choice for me to say they were giving praise to the place. Stumping may or may not be grammatically correct
I banged a Mongolian girl in SK. It wasn't the all conquering experience I wanted it to be. Her poon was funky. But maybe I got the Genghis Warts out of it.
Stokes Greeks still call it Constantinople. We changed the city's name to Istanbul after we took it from Greeks in 15th century. I personally don't mind when people call there Constantinople. It is a cool name anyway
I know, my best friend at work is Greek and I'm always asking him why they call it a Greek Salad and not a Turk Salad _
That is a long time issue between Greeks and Turks. We tell them they stole yogurt from us they say we stole from them. Same thing goes for Coffee. We call it Turkish coffee, they call it Greek coffee. Also Gyro. We say it is Turkish invention, they say it is Greek. We call our National drink "Raki" which is similar to Greek "Uzo". We have a lot in common actually.
At least the greatest Turkish warriors didn't make it a habit of fucking each other in the ass. Edit: Brook, Turkey isn't one of the cultures that I have made an effort to study the history of, but you have inspired me to do some reading on your people. I'll do the usual googling, but if you feel up to it, any references would be appreciated.
As far as I know they did byz. It is also rumored that some of the old Turkish sultans were gay. I am not much into history so I might be wrong.
Aw sheeit. Well I guess that jibes with a lot of middle eastern cultures. Women are for procreation, men are for recreation. Please see my edit in the previous post.
Sure byz I will check and see what is a good source for you to read a little about Turkish history and culture. In fact, BradwaySux knows a lot about Turkish history. I might ask some help from him.
Heh, Br4d and I have gotten after each other a bit lately, not sure he'd be all the receptive to a request on my behalf.
byz This looks like a good starting point. It is detailed. Not easy to read but it contains some valuable information. http://www.everyculture.com/To-Z/Turkey.html
I'm not as well travelled as some here but of the places I've been I'd say the coolest places I've been and would recommend would be the west coast of Ireland (Cliffs of Moher, Dingle, etc.) and Shanghai, China in general was cool but Shanghai was just next level. Paris was cool too but if I went back to France I think I'd want to go to the south of France for the beaches and whatnot instead. It's well documented in the other thread that I'm going to NYC in less than two weeks, I'm sure that will soon be on my list. For places I would like to go I've always kind of wanted to go to Greece and to Iceland for some reason.
Yep, used in politics all the time from when a candidate going town to town to drum up votes would stand on a raised object, often a stump (sometimes a soapbox), to tell people why they should vote for him.
Ahhh shit... I've been to too many great places to list a few Barcelona was my favorite though, great food, lots of history, lots of free art, friendly people but for some reason I was disappointed in the women. The attractive ones were mostly Eastern Europeans and it's an expensive city so it has it's knocks. Rome, simply fucking amazing. I could spend the next 40 years of my life there and still not see all it offers Hong Kong, was there in May and I was mesmerized. I like Asian women so there was an abundance of tiny little Chinese girls although they didn't seem too interested in being railed by Westerners. If any of em looked at you it was a good moment. The opposite of Taiwan where I probably could have fucked half the female population under the age of 30. Andorra la Vella, don't laugh. It's the capital of Andorra which is a pimple sized country between France and Spain in the Pyrenees. It was relaxing, quiet, had great tax free shopping, virtually no crime, good food and amazing views of the mountains. Nobody speaks a word of English and hotels are cheap. They also have something called The Caldea which is essentially hot springs but well worth the 60 euros to get in. Rio, Copacabana and Ipanema, need I say more?
Every time I start to plan my next trip, I'm figuring out some way to get back to Rome. It really has it all. I could sit in Piazza Navona for hours and do nothing but drink wine and take it all in. _
