IMO the penalty was legit. Defender stepped on Rubben's left foot stopping his progress. As to Rubben's selling it... Can you blame the guy when at the end of first when he was NOT selling it the ref didn't can double penalty on him?
I'm with you. There is a lot of old blood between Brits and the Dutch, and England is out. Wonder if this has anything to do with the assessment
Very glad to see the Dutch win. Sneijder my man. I agree with futbol authority RuJFan. That was a penalty.
Not 1-on-1... However, you CAN turn 4th down incompletion into 1st and goal on Cleveland's 5 yard line with under a minute to play. Do tell me how is this different. Football's analogy to futbol's PK, IMO
Robben's foul in 1st half was a penalty, this one was not a penalty...Very hard decision on Rafa...Robben baited Rafa and he stuck his foot out on Robben and Robben fell down. It sucks, but Mexico tactically got worse and gave up the ball often...Sucks because Ochoa was very good and my goodness that Greece/Costa Rica matchup would have pretty much given one of these teams a easy road to the Semis
Brooklyn, You're a betting man, maybe you can explain something to me. The lines for CR-GRE game was: ATS: CR pick (-125) Moneyline: CR (+170) WTF re payout? What am I missing here?
Hi RJF Yisman is the authority in this field. But this is an elimination game. Normal bets are for 90 minutes and extra bets are for teams who will advance after the game. You can bet on a CR win after 90 minutes or you can bet on CR advancing regardless of what happens in the first 90 minutes. Does this makes sense or no?
Well, I thought I'd have something to do with reg time, but there was not mention of it. Idk, I put $20 on CR money line, will see...
ATS means that if Costa Rica wins, you get the bet with the typical -125 winnings. If the game is a draw after regulation time, then you get your money back. ML means that if Costa Rica wins, you get the bet with the typical +170 winnings. If the game is a draw after regulation time, then you LOSE the bet. Meanwhile, that last goal by the Netherlands may have cost me close to $1,000 since I had a couple $5 parlays tied to that game ending in a draw. Fun!
The reason there's always confusion is because American sports have two way betting. Soccer has three way betting. They do have two way betting but that's not standard (the PK line is two way). So for this match, you had Costa Rica ML at about +170 and Greece ML at about +190. The reason it makes sense is because if the score is tied at the end of 90 minutes (plus the added injury time), both of those bets lose. The 'draw' bet would win. If you bet PK, Costa Rica was roughly -110, and Greece was roughly even odds. Assuming you bet the PK line, you get a push if it's tied. This is also referred to as a "draw no bet" bet. There's also (for playoff type matches) odds on which side will advance, which will be similar to the PK line. Simple two way betting.
Just saw it... Cute and thank you, but having a strong opinion hardly qualifies anyone to be an authority. Otherwise, we'd all had to consede that Champ is right and just close this joint
Yeah, that positive ML on both teams set off my "I'm missing something" alerts. It's misleading though since they don't mention reg time anywhere. In any case I already made $50 giving Mex 0.5 goal, so I'll be out of red regardless.
Also had Mexico +0.5! I wouldn't be surprised if no one scored in this game. Though that was a great/lucky save by CR right there.
Did you bet Netherlands -.5? Some places specify 90 minutes only, others don't (it's just assumed). Here's one book I bet at (note they don't mention it). With 3 way betting, the starting point would be +200/+200/+200 rather than +100/+100. Add the vig, and it's +195/+195/+195. Then it's adjusted from there. Typically, unless there are suspicions due to the end of the season and both teams needed a point, the draw will be over +200. Sun 6/29927501Costa Rica pk -117 +158 O 1½,2 -122 1:03PM (PST) 927502Greece pk +106 +195 U 1½,2 +110 927503 - Draw +210
Yeah, I bet Neth - 0.5, Costa Rico ML I expect CR score in the second half, if Greeks don't score before. CR should wear the Greeks off and it should translate into 1-2 goals later on. However, if Greeks score first, they won't need to run and will just sit in defense, conserving strength. I believe CR is a better team, but this is one of those games when the best team might not win.
Rooting for Greece (along with USA), but yeah, if they win today, then I can't see them beating the Netherlands. Of course, anything can happen, though.
