there really isn't any. I thought it was strange that they were pointing it out. Netherlands 58% time of possession, 10 corners Mexico 42% and 2 corners
Another late-game flop. This is why non-soccer fans hate soccer. They really need to start going to the old NHL philosophy of not calling anything short of a triple axe murder late and in OT with all the guys flopping.
I don't agree with the foul, Robben sold it like he was the dude outside Port Authority with the bootleg DVD's
They created so many corners you had to think at some point they would get one in. Ochoa wasn't going to stop everything, the guy played out of his mind or the Dutch probably win by 2
funny thing was, the one in the first half was blatant and no penalty was awarded the one given in added time was debatable because the contact was slight Absolutely, Ochoa was fantastic, it's impressive he was able to keep a clean sheet for as long as he did. The Dutch are simply better all around. Top 4 in the world, IMO.
Robben dominated their back line all day, every time he had possession near the box he was able to create
A wake up call for holland today. Can't coast your way through the tourney. I'd still take them over Brazil for the whole thing. Can't wait! Robben is so good, even if you know he's going left you still can't stop him. So agile and shifty.
He was a treat to watch every time he touches the ball, the combo of Kuyt and Robben on that side gave Mexico problems all day. I don't see the Dutch having any problems with the Greeks but if Costa Rica can get by today they will give the Dutch problems because they have a really good striker who can create unlike Mexico who rely on a strong midfield and goalie.
Obvious foul. Robben definitely sold it and embellished it, but Marquez tripped him. Bad challenge, deserved call. Could argue that Robben should have drawn a foul in the 1st half and this is a makeup call.
The problem is how many times do we see some bitch like Brady sell a roughing the passer call late in the 4th or a WR act like he was shot in the legs trying to sell a pass interference. It happens in all sports but in soccer it's just magnified because the scoring chances are so much less.
Right. Its different obviously when it comes to football because you can't flop and get a 1-on-1 chance against a defender from the 5 yard line for a TD which is the equivalent of what happens with penalty kicks. What a joke
