If refs don't get in the way, Columbia has better chances in advancing. They are really a good team. Their athleticism will kill Brazil.

Serious novice question. Is the loser going to have massacres in the streets of their hometowns?

If the ref who refed their game today someone was on it they're done. That guy was having none of their bullshit flopping and it was probably the best reffed game of the tournament. Granted there were a shit ton of fouls but that guy was on it and never allowed it to spiral.

ah, I'm late to the party, nice to see some other fools here on this board appreciate the OTHER football. ;)

Anybody else want to see an all North Amrican semi-final? of course that would require Mexico or Costa Rica beating the Dutch, but it would be amazing to see the normally dominant european sides taken down a peg.

Anyway, I like the Yanks chances of beating belgium so long as they come out strong. Belgium sees to be good and scoring late, but they weren't exactly overwhelming their opponents. they have a lot of individual talent but aren't necessarily all that cohesive and CAN be beaten.

    Go Yanks!

English announcers are saying this is our first official cooling break, that the US one was unofficial.

    Wow cooling break.

Gonna need to schedule a bunch of those if the WC goes to Qatar.

Robben fouled in the box by two different Mexican players, nothing from the referee

one kicked him in the calf, causing him to stumble, then the second came sliding in to knock him down.

    Both obvious penalties.

I think the heat is killing Holland, I think they are done. They look like they have nothing. That could be a huge advantage for the teams that play in the Americas.

If Mejico can hold on that would mean either Mejico, Costa Rica or Greece would be in the semifinals. Insane to even consider that as a possibility 2 weeks ago.

Which begs the question: "what's the difference?"

Gonna use an american football phrase, prevent defense only prevents you from winning. ;)
