From what I've read, Boyle, Pouliot and Stralman are all probably gone and Dom Moore might return. If thats true, its bad news for the Rangers. Replacing those guys will be hard.
Andrew Gross@AGrossRecord · 12m At No. 59, Rangers select G Brandon Halverson from OHL. 6'4" US goalie with great puck handling skills
Poo is looking for 3 years at 9 million. Someone will give him that, but not the Rangers. I don't think the hang up with Boyle is over money. I believe they could come to a deal on the years and money. The problem I see is that AV has said that Boyle will stay in a fourth line role. Boyle has said that he wants a bigger role, and someone will give him that.
I liked the draft. I read a tweet from some analyst or scout saying Halverson is the best puck handling goalie he has ever seen. The rest of his skills seem pretty good as well. The other drafted goalie Shesterkin sounds like a future #1. In a draft with no first round pick, I like the idea to go for the upside goalies. There weren't many high upside defenseman or forwards left, so it made sense to use this draft to go for the high upside goalies.
Seems to me Talbot is as good as gone after this season, so they needed to get some extra backup in the system

Jeff Gorton on Anthony Duclair We are always looking for a young guy to make the team, it’s good for everything, the room, the cap, there are a lot of reasons why we want young players to make our team. Will he do it, I don’t know but we are never in a situation where we will say that he is going back to junior no matter what, we would love for a guy to come in at 19 and make our team, a guy with speed like that, with the way we play, I think he would be a good fit for us.

ATTENTION: RYAN CALLAHAN - THIS is how you demonstrate that your "First priority is to remain a new York Ranger". http://nyrangersblog.com/2014-articles/zuccarello-willing-to-take-less-to-stay-with-rangers.html As if Rangers fans weren’t already in love with Mats Zuccarello, here comes this quote from the Norwegian winger on his contract negotiations with the Rangers (viaNettavisen)…. “The most important thing to me is how many years the contract is for, not necessarily how much the salary is. I want to be able to compete for the Stanley Cup every season and therefore will not necessarily push wages up to the maximum.” Zuccarello adds that he’s hoping to get a three or four year contract to remain with the Rangers. Zuccarello did warn that while a contract could be signed in a day, there is also a chance he could go to arbitration.
I definitely don't think we'll be able to afford him, but he should be the #1 priority after signing our own guys.
