yeah he certainly didn't get us in per se....but he did make breathing a little easier during the final 10 minutes of yesterday's games. If it still was at 1-1 I would have been shitting myelf until the final whistle. Ghana had a few looks at the end there. but like you said if Portugal were down 2-1 and he scored, THEN he would have gotten us in.

After being spanked by the Germans, largely dominated by a US squad before managing a draw, and then winning a meaningless game against Ghana, let the Portuguese fan be happy while he watches other teams play in the next round. Apparently Kompany has a groin injury and might not play against the US. Meanwhile, Altidore could return, though I doubt he'd start. Both would be good news for the US odds of advancing.
