I root for my blood, Portugal. If Hawai'i had a soccer team, I'd root for them. Make sense?

You are partially correct. Yes, I am rooting for Portugal, because I actually have a bit of Portuguese blood. Do you have American blood?

And btw, Hawai'i is illegally occupied by the US. But I'm sure you knew that.

don't underestimate "the game after Manaus" syndrome that's been pretty consistent. They looked a pretty tired team.......they've traveled the most. They should be proud, most, myself included gave them zero chance to advance.........happy they proved me wrong. Losing 1-0 to Germany under those circumstances isn't awful. They are where they wanted to be now.

Yes and no. Your 'blood' indicates ethnicity. Rooting for 'Hawaii' ("if they had a team") indicates an alligance based on geographical considerations. And Hawaii, being one of the 50 U.S. states has a team: the USA. You sound like a Loco-Luso-Americano who's confusing ethnicity and geography (above).

Now, let's take a look at your apparent racial confusion (below) vvv

fkn cracker? .... wha' the hell?....

I'd root for Hawai'i because I am 50% Hawaiian by blood, whether I live in Hawai'i or Antartica.

You act as if I despise the USA, which is not true.

My grandfather was a pure Portuguese man who fought against the Japanese at Pearl Harbor. He was proud to be American, but always reminded us to never forget your blood. Your try identity.

I'm happy for the US, i just wish Portugal played better in that game against Germany.

Belgium wins outright despite being a man down for the second half.

    Algeria manages a draw.

Belgium first and faces the US. Algeria second and they face Germany.

    The bracket is now set:

I love you Cristiano Ronaldo...Anyone see his attempt in the first half from the wing, almost scored the goal of the tournament.

    Delivers us from disaster

Try seeing if the Univision is blocked? I think they are streaming the games with Spanish speaking commentators, but watching the game is above not watching the game.

I've said this on FB asa he scored it and people were giving him all the credit:
Ronaldo did NOT get the US into the next round and giving him credit for it is BS.

jftr, I am not hating on him...but let's look at the facts.

1-If he doesn't score.. it (most likely) ends in a tie : US gets in
2-The Portugal Win ties the US :US gets in (Tiebreaker)
: 2a- The 4-0 Spanking from Germany was the difference because the Tiebreaker (G Diff.)

So if anything we should thank Germany for getting us in.. I know most of the Futbol heads already knew this
and it may have already been stated but seeing this still getting regurgitated as if it was all him is BS and annoying...
    k..as u were.. o_O

yeah he certainly didn't get us in per se....but he did make breathing a little easier during the final 10 minutes of yesterday's games. If it still was at 1-1 I would have been shitting myelf until the final whistle. Ghana had a few looks at the end there. but like you said if Portugal were down 2-1 and he scored, THEN he would have gotten us in.

Let the Portuguese fan have his day. After being spanked by the Germans, largely dominated by a US squad before managing a draw, and then winning a meaningless game against Ghana, let the Portuguese fan be happy while he watches other teams play in the next round.

Apparently Kompany has a groin injury and might not play against the US. Meanwhile, Altidore could return, though I doubt he'd start. Both would be good news for the US odds of advancing.
