Disappointing games in terms of play but things are shaping up nicely for the next round.

I'm happy we advance, but sad we lost. It's a bittersweet feeling.

Nga y'all needed help from Portugal since you failed to show up against Germany. Quit acting like you did it on your own. Fkn Cracker Jack.

Belgium has by far better talents, but they have a history of disorganization and low morale. USA will be the underdogs, but they should have a descent shots.

No, because it's not set yet. It's likely we face Belgium, though.

Most likely, Belgium wins that group and faces us, with either Russia or Algeria getting second (Algeria needs to win or draw vs. Russia).

Belgium will be easier than Germany for sure. Their team chemistry is abysmal, the star players are the only thing keeping them in.

Ahhh thanks. Is the WC done in that stupid Manaus? Are games being played more centrally around Rio?

    http://larrybrownsports.com/soccer/us-play-group-h-winner-belgium-a-knockout-stage/233834

The US’s next game will be Tuesday at 3:30 pm ET against the Group H winner, which will likely be Belgium. The winner of that game faces the winner of Argentina and Switzerland.

Though it’s too early to jump any guns here, Argentina went 3-0 in group play and is one of the favorites to win the entire tournament. They’re obviously expected to reach the quarterfinals.

If the US were to win two in a row to advance to the semifinals, they would face whomever emerges between Netherlands/Mexico and Costa Rica/Greece. The Netherlands and Costa Rica are expected to win their respective games.

    ===========

Ridiculous that Costa Rica/Greece wound up being a matchup in the knockout round.

Also, I believe the 3:30 PM time being reported is incorrect. I think they will be on a noon/4 PM schedule EDT like they are now.

    It'll be 4pm ET.

United quietly making some moves today. Shaw and Herrera. Not a bad start to the rebuild.

USA should be proud of the way that they had played. They were the underdogs with no chance. Well they played as well and even they have themselves, seem to be surprised.

I have to disagree here. Yes, we were the underdogs going into today, but they played some awful ball this afternoon. Everyone knew we would need to strengthen up our defense against Germany, but Germany controlled the ball the entire game. They held possession of it and controlled the outcome. We were not aggressive and frankly, Germany looked to be playing for more of a purpose then we looked.

In my opinion, that was a shitty outing and thankfully we advanced. We need to change that if we want any chance at going deeper into this thing.

Nah, Hawaiians don't hate Portuguese as much as they do Americans. We love Portuguese. They gave us the ukulele and malasadas. Lolz.

So I guess we'll find out if Altidore can return for Tuesday's match.
