Also probably means they can go after a portion of his signing bonus and they can try to avoid any injury settlement now if Goodson pushes that direction.
I hear you...but I sure would've liked to know what kinda' "game" he had left in him. Too late now....
so, what the hell? where did he go? I haven't paid much mind to this ongoing narrative, but I've been assuming this has all been a legal thing. Why wouldn't he show up knowing hundreds of thousands of dollars are on the line?
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...concern-for-mike-goodsons-well-being/related/ worrisome. i hope he's ok...
^ This. Yes he screwed up in more ways than one, but no one wants to see a person go down the tubes altogether (New England Patriots don't count).
He might be an extremely depressed alcoholic. He hasn't had contact with the Jets for months (despite what Big Blocker suggested) and his own agent even released a statement saying that he has to be responsible for his actions, suggesting that maybe he's been shunning his agent as well. He could've gotten an injury settlement because of his knee injury, even if he wasn't in playing shape- and the fact that he didn't even try to do that suggests to me that he's just completely withdrawn, and/or is turning to the bottle to try to manage the horrible feelings he's dealing with. I think he's going through some extremely dark times, and I hope he's able to get the help he needs.
yeah, given the way he just fell off the earth things can't be going right in his life. there was an a honest second chance right in front of him, WITH a bit guaranteed money involved if he at least showed up and lost a roster spot in training camp. something terrible must be going down to neglect even that much.
I almost wonder if he just split town. Those gun charges were complete BS, and I don't care what anyone tells me.
Kinda hard to call BS on this one. The weapon was in the vehicle and no one has claimed ownership. That gives the prosecutor a lot of latitude in whom to charge with possession. IF Goodson had a righteous crew with him, someone would have claimed ownership just to give cover to a NFL player. That didn't happen. Even if Goodson wasn't the owner of the gun, he was the owner of abysmal judgement and in fact, was drunk as a skunk when taken into custody. He owns all of this situation soup to nutz. Just because he was a Jet when this happened, that doesn't give him a pass. He brought that west coast pseudo gangsta shit with him and it don't play well on the EC. He's gonna pay the price for his arrogance and stupidity. He can run, but unless he finds a way to avoid every traffic cam, security cam, online payment, email, or any other access to the world, they will find him. He's too fckn stupid to avoid capture.
I read earlier today that Goodson's brother (plays in the NFL, can't remember the first name) confirmed that Mike Goodson is in Houston. Not sure if that means skipping town legally, but he's definitely not in Jersey. Here it is: http://m.nydailynews.com/sports/foo...oodson-day-minicamp-no-show-article-1.1834592
IDIOT, bottom line. No sympathy from me. I really don`t care if this person ends up on the Bowery with a dog on his lap asking for money. Screw him. Just another dumbass signing by The New York Jets. Amazing how the whole world is thrown into someone`s hands, and they fuck it all up. I laugh at them. Harsh? I don`t really give a shit. Opportunity knocks, you take it. One chance on this planet and you should really make the best of it imo.
