Don't go to the zoo on Wednesday (free day) unless you like having screaming city camp kids all over the place. It's worth it to pay in order to avoid the madness of free day. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
nice pay it forward one suggestion, nice way of seeing NYC is do 3 hour tour by bus around Manhatten. If are going back to places ie ferry to statue of liberty , you have been there and know where to go, saves time , from there you can walk up to WTC memorial. Also download a map on your phone.
Ahoy matey! Being that New York's the seaport gateway to America and that Manhattan's an island, in the cheap thrills department (while down in lower Manhattan-Battery Park), go take a round trip ride on the Staten Island Ferry which offers great views of New York harbor and lower Manhattan. Running back and forth between lower Manhattan and Staten Island, it's only a 5-mile, 25-minute trip each way and, it's FREE: http://www.siferry.com/ I would also strongly suggest you and the Mrs. taking a night cruise around Manhattan. Here's a list (offering varying options): http://www.viator.com/New-York-City...-and-Water-Tours/d687-g3-c9?pref=02&aid=g4278 Charming. What rock do you live under?
Thanks for the continuing suggestions. Booked the flights last night so it's official, I'm going! So, yeah, pretty excited. Just wish I could also catch a Jets game, maybe next time. Going to work on my itinerary now to get the most of of my 3.5 days in NYC!
I'll get in on Monday the 14th about 8am and I leave on Thursday the 17th at about 8pm. So obviously have to factor in travel time to and from airport.
Go fuck yourself you fucking illiterate douchebag. Mods, apologies by why do we need to continuously put up with this fucking illiterate asshat douchebag trolling asshole fucking dickhead. Serious question. Btw, in case I get band, hey Geno007 go fuck yourself you illiterate fucking douchebag asshole. _
Yes!!!!! Finally!! Get this prick out of here, please!! I've been saying that for months now. Gives nothing to this forum and just creates bullshit in every thread.
I hope they don't ban you. Your just speaking your opinion about me....BTW I'm not the one who says that New Yorkers are assholes that is a rep that been given to you guys by a bunch of people. http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/americans-new-yorkers-rudest-survey-article-1.1431934
People who say NYers are "a-holes" that whole stereotype, etc. are people who haven't actually spent time there. That b.s. survey is probably heavily weighted with folks that haven't spent any real time in the city. I've been all over the country and the occasions where I've lived in NYC were the best experiences of my life and I found people in general to be more adept socially and more cognizant of others (which is a good thing) - most importantly though - people in NY are REAL. Other parts of the country - the midwest and south, especially that's not the case. In my experience, lots of people in those places are phony as fuck. They will act all nice and cordial to their friends and enemies so they can keep their reputation as being hospitable but it's all a phony ass show. In NY, if someone doesn't like someone else - they will straight up say it. That's why phony outsiders think NYers are rude I think, but really I'd much rather know what I'm dealing with than live in some silly charade. When I lived in the south I always heard - "oh you moved here from NY? That's so weird I would've never guessed that - you are very nice for a NYer" (and smile as if they are being nice...) my response was always "well have you ever been to NY?" I'd say 90% of the people that said that shit had never even been there. but you were just trolling this thread anyway. No reason to say that crap to someone who is visiting and nicely asking for suggestions.
Answering a post that argues a stereotype with another stereotype is pretty pointless. I have lived half my life in the south and do not notice people being any more phony here than when I lived in NY just as I have run into just as many rude people in the south as when I lived in NY. Judge people on their individual traits or don't judge at all is a good rule in my book.
You are such a dumb illiterate POS you can't even recall what you just said. Here, I'll remind you asshole. You know what? My daughter lives in NYC. You called her an asshole. My son lives in NYC. You called him an asshole. My wife and I lived in NYC, I worked in NYC for 20 years, my brother lives in NYC, my parents were born and raised in NYC. Some of my best friends live in NYC. You called all of them assholes. Seriously, go fuck yourself. Beside, this is a genuine thread by a well liked TGG poster asking for well intentioned travel tips and advice. Not sure why the mods continue to let you breathe. Like my Grandmother used to say, "if you don't have anything nice to say, go fuck yourself you illiterate trolling douchebag piece of shit". _
West side is the best side. Check out the intrepid, cool roof top bar near by "press lounge" not as lame as it sounds (its on 48th & 11th on top of the Ink Hotel), you can rent bikes over there, west side highway is a good ride, Columbus Circle is cool for shopping and Central Park is right there, you should also try to get uptown see the tomb of Ulysses S. Grant and National History museum, I would check out the Highline in Chelsea, I liked Moma too, they have Starry night there and some Picasso's and other famous artists. Have fun, & GFY!
I was kind of interested in going to a speakeasy or something similar. From what I've read a lot of them are kind of for trendy dbags and hipsters. Is this true? I would still like to go to one just for the experience as there is nothing like that where I live. I know a few of them (like Bathtub Gin, PDT, Employees Only, etc.) are they worth the trip? If not are there any suggestions for a good watering hole? Our hotel is somewhere around 10th ave and 42nd street or something but I'm willing to travel a bit as I'm more interested in an unusual experience than a cheap price. Apotheke sounded cool too but, again, could be for hipsters or something: not sure. Thanks again for all the advice so far. I was going to ask something like "where do I get the best pizza?" but figured that might incite a riot but suggestions are still welcome.
