I know you like the tough, physical players Matt, but this is not the guy you want. He's worse than Rupp was when he signed him, and Rupp really was a guy who scored big goals (Thornton only has 1 goal in 106 playoff games.)

This isn't some incredible defense of Dorsett, but he can at least move and has end-to-end energy to play AV's style. Same with Carcillo. Thornton was a negative player playing in Boston's system, it's hard to fathom just how out of place he would be here.

Getting bigger and stronger is an area that should be addressed, but not with 37 year old guys who can't move.

AM he would be the 12th forward and I think he adds more character and ability than Dorsett, I like Dorsett's heart, speed and peskiness, just too small and offensively challenged during the season he was prone to dumb penalties, but played much better In the playoffs, I actually think that Carcillo is better than him though

David Booth is a guy I hope they're looking at. Big player who, despite his injuries he's still strong on the puck, not afraid to go to the net, still skates well and he's an elite possession player with success playing for AV. The lazy teams will underrate him like they did Pouliot last year.

Its important as we all know to have a good fourth line. Thornton is a complete waste of a roster spot. Boyle is as good as gone so we need to replace his size and PK ability. As well as face off ability. HOWEVER, Id like to address the first two lines before the 4th.......

Want Thornton to replce Dorsett not Boyle, Boyle had 6 goals and 12 assists, not too many teams will be knocking down his door

Ryan McDonagh finishes 8th to Duncan Keith in Norris voting. McDonagh had one second-place vote.

No way there's 7 dmen better than him, especially well rounded o and d together like him

The voting is for regular season only and is completed before the playoffs. So at that point everyone around the league was still ignoring and dismissing the Rangers and maybe 3 guys had ever seen McDonaugh play. This season more people will be watching and he won't get railroaded the same way. I'm hoping the same thing happens by the refs with the respect and giving us fair calls instead of giving everything to the other team

Callahan just re-signed with Tampa 6/34.8M with a partial NTC

Rangers get 2nd round pick from Tampa
