huh? the guy who scored was behind the ball the whole time? How do you suppose the US shoulda played the offside?
I guess you are right, basically they should have paid attention to anyone in the box, but they all watched Ronaldo
exactly......Cameron was about ten yards too close to Ronaldo instead of backing up and marking whoever the fuck scored. Oh well
They were ball watching, Omar Gonzalez shit the bed as well. I mean honestly looking back the US fucked up on 2 plays the entire game and unfortunately Portugal capitalized n both of them. I mean let's be honest, we absolutely outplayed them. Sadly we gave it away, unlike Ghana we were not the deserving team but stole 3 points.
Thats what makes football so crazy...Its cruel but somehow the best teams always find a way to make it to the end, after all the misery
As a novice, it did appear to me that we were outplaying them. I don't think I was wearing red, white and blue glasses either--we looked like the better team. Such a damn shame giving that one away in the fashion that we did. _
That's pretty much it, while we didn't lose the game think of it like Zach Wheeler going 8 innings striking out 7 and getting a loss because his defense committed 2 errors allowing runs to score.
I'm still arguing with people who are blaming Bradley for everything that went wrong in the entire game.
Bradly will get back in everyones good graces on Thursday. He was much better against Portugal than Ghana ... no matter what everyone wants to say. Thursday night he gets a goal. Be interested to see if we see Yedlin again ... he has stupid speed, and really did a nice job on the initial cross that lead to Dempsey's goal.
I did a little search but couldn't find it. Does anybody have any good info about Portugal-USA games ratings and how it compares to say NBA Finals?
you see I dont agree there.........if they had lost 1-0 maybe I'd say that......due to the lack of missing a sitter from 5 yds away...........but the tying goal? no friggin way that's on him. he loses the ball on the other side of the field and everyone else becomes spectators. The guy is always getting the pressure, has the ball more than anyone on the team and covers more ground than anyone on the team...so yeah, he's going to turn it over more than anyone too. Shit Andrea Pirlo had a sub par performance too for Italy in Game 2.........the trials and tribulations of the central midfielder. But yeah if he traps that ball cleanly at the end and keeps possesion...............
USA vs. Portugal - 25.3M viewers (ESPN + Univision) http://variety.com/2014/tv/news/usa...pns-highest-ever-world-cup-rating-1201242091/ NBA Finals Game 5 - 18M viewers (ABC) http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/201...ls-2014-television-ratings-finals-last-season
Thanks Petro Looks like soccer is up and coming. I know this is World Cup and a whole nation is watching versus NBA finals only 2 cities are watching but still it tells us something. Can't explain these ratings with just the immigrants I guess.
