Yeah and given Portugal's -4 in GD while we're +1 it'd be very unlikely they pass us with a win, while Ghana's -1 and we're +1 so at worst we're tied with them in GD if we lose by one and they win by one, so we kinda need a Portugal result (win/tie) unless they pull a rabbit out of their hat against Germany.
Hope "our" coach doesn't bail during the post game presser ……..so as to go check out the final minutes of a gamed involving two other foreign teams…..US with 2 Mark Sanchez-esque stupid giveaways leading to the 2 goals by the Ronaldos. What a mess. Bad giveaway :-(
Can't believe that shit. That was as "clutch" or "blowing it" as it gets depending on how you want to look at it
Absolutely ridiculous game. I mean, just absolutely ridiculous. If you were neutral observer that must have been a fun game.
Ronaldo isn't clutch. MJ would have never passed in that situation, he would taken the shot.... Oh wrong sport
Watching the highlights, that Portugal defender made a GREAT play to rob Bradley on a shot/goal and I don't know how Tim Howard saved that shot following the shot that hit the post. Just got a hand on it. Incredible plays defensively
You know that you're bragging about barely postponing elimination against a team that you looked down upon this whole time, right. Coming from someone who in fact gave up on the game before it ended, you're beyond pathetic.
I hate the bandwagon US fans calling for Bradley's head and falling back on "LOL SOCCER ITS LIKE OUR 7th BEST SPORT." Just reeks of bitterness. Lots of people follow the US team and want us to be good. We're getting there, but we still lack the 1 touch passing that the rest of these teams have. 10 more years or so...
Utter ignorance here. Bradley set up excellent opportunities early in the game with his passing but the front line couldn't capitalize off of it. He played well today and should not be blamed what so ever for the loss. Howard made huge saves today and cannot be blamed for those two goals. One was a huge defensive blunder and the other was an absolutely perfect cross from Ronaldo. This was a matter of bounces and Portugal having the best player in the world. If the US plays this way against Germany they should draw at worst. This was a flip side of the Ghana game. Ghana outplayed the US in the first game and lost while the US outplayed Portugal and drew. Coming into the game I would've been very happy with a draw but this draw is tough to swallow considering how close they were to a win. But saying that anything was rigged or blaming any individual player is nonsense
Heyso Eh, I'm sure that I'm not the only one who thought the game was over..but seeing as how the US got sort of lazy at the end, I'm glad that it can back and shot them in the ass. Still, I stand by my belief that the US played an intense match, and I don't hate their run in the cup. Portugal had their chances, but it is what it is in the end.
Bradley was responsible for that cross happening on the first place. He had a really bad WC so far -- inconsistent, gives up, no hussle. As to Howard -- see my earlier posts, I don't feel like retyping for someone too lazy to scroll back three pages. Oh, you do know it was not a loss, right? The game actually ended in a tie -- just FYI.
