You can do this for most SB runs or winning SB and a lot of playoff games that are close. That's why football is so exciting, it's one game and if it becomes a close game you can single out plays that changed the NFL playoffs.
It shows the two best teams in the league aren't going to be playing in the SB. In fact, it shows how weak the AFC is meaning the Jets have a chance if they get their stuff together
We agree on some and disagree on others. I'd take making deep runs every year even if I only win one SB in that timespan. We all would as Jets fans I'm sure. A lot of the teams on that list were one hit wonders and weren't built to go deep every year with the exception of the Pats who have been doing it forever now which sucks. SF is deep all over and just had a top draft. They may not win the whole thing but they are built to sustain deep runs for the next couple of years and have a very good shot of picking up a ring in one of those years.
Well thats my point, you need luck to win it. The stars aligned for the 49ers in 2012 but they couldnt close the deal. Matt Ryan could have ended their season just 2 weeks before that. For the stars to align again its going to require a lot, i guess we will see if it happens. I dont think it will personally.
Yeah the 49ers still have their "window open". The window can close quickly with one injury here or there or one player taking a step back developmentally wise, but their window is open heading into the season which is more than you can say for about 20 other teams in the NFL.
I think this year will be the telling year if they can maintain success for a long time, if they can find themselves in the playoffs again then they probably are like the Patriots of the West. Most teams peak and then fall back down, they have not yet and if they dont this year then they have put together quite a team/brain trust.
I havent made my official pick yet but im pretty damn tempted to pick the Seahawks. I NEVER pick a repeat but I just look at it this way, they are going to win 7-8 home games next season. They are going to win 4-5 road games next year, they could be looking at a 12-13 win season which should give them the home-field again. If they get the home-field they will get back to the Super Bowl. TBH I didnt even think they played good in either playoff game, yet they still won both. When that team gets rolling its incredibly hard to stop. As for the NFC, im sadly looking at the Patriots to reach the Super Bowl. That might change but again, I dont like picking the Super Bowl losers (Broncos), so I think New England will find themselves back in the Super Bowl. Seahawks will beat them though in a closer game with the score of somewhere around 24-17.
Hey!!! He learned how to copy&paste recently! It only took 50 years (4 more than Jets w/out SB). A little respect for the old fart please.
whos your top two out of curiosity? not that this isn't subjective, its just that suck is a strong word.
hehe probably San Fran and Seattle but I haven't given it a lot of thought. Going into last season, I thought that San Fran was the best team in the NFL.
