Lol I enjoy thinking about the teams that we have historically been terrible against and teams we've historically had great success against. It's kinda eeiry that it holds true across generations of players/coaches. Historically good against: Minnesota Cincinnati Tampa Bay Houston Historically terrible against: Philly Pittsburgh Baltimore And.. I don't know if the record reflects it, because they were division foes for so long, but it feels like we always used to historically find someway to blow games against Indianapolis, even when they were terrible. So I will include them. If we ever win a SB, we will have to beat Houston in the div. round and then Cincinnati at home in the AFCCG... before destroying Minnesota in the SB (at least thats my SB dream at night)
Correct. I just wonder if anyone would ever get certain trivia without the internet. Not saying you did, but these days you can get answers to anything. I have an old deck of Jets trivia cards. Some stuff in there is interesting. I`ll get more later.
Random AFC trivia.. What 5 AFC teams have gone the longest without appearing in the conference championship game? For a bonus, what 3 NFC teams have gone the longest? partial credit counts!
I'll take a crack at it as I'm on a plane delayed on the Tarmac and miserable. Off the top of my head... -Bills -dolphins -texans -browns -chiefs -redskins -cowboys -lions
wow pretty good off top of head.. only 1 wrong. The Texans didn't become a team i think until 2002, so there is another team waiting 14 yrs longer than them. AFC team ? - '88 Browns - '89 (but they were disbanded for 4 years as well) Dolphins - '92 Bills - '93 Chiefs - '93 NFC Lions - '91 Redskins - '91 Cowboys - '95
Jets trivia: The Jets first 7 appearances on Monday Night Football were on the road (0-7). They finally hosted a MNF game as Shea Stadium against which team? Sidebar: the Jets won 14-7. Was at the game - Jet fans did not put their best foot forward that night, lots of crap going on in the stands…drunks fighting. There was this one Viking fan who was goading the Jets fans who were jeering at him by waving a tapered Minnesota Vikings pennant-on-a-stick.. They then started laughing as (unbeknowst to him) a Jet fan lit the tip of the tappered pennant on fire. The thing burned about a 3rd of the way up before the guy realized what happened. Nasty, ugly atmosphere. Aside from the MNF buzz at the beginning of the game, the game itself sucked.
My brother and sister and dad went to that game. Somebody pulled out a gun in their section and I think someone was pushed off of the side of the upper tier too.
