they have a good chance of at least drawing against Australia. They're lucky Australia is in the group so they can avoid being "shut out".
I'm just trying to figure out how Mexico won't go through it doesn't look good. I guess if Croatia beats Cameroon 2-0 they'd be at 0 GD which would mean they would need to beat Mexico. They would need to win today by 4 goals to be able to draw against Mexico to advance but other than that they need to win their next 2. I don't see Cameroon beating Brazil so a Cameroon win would be horrible for anyone who wants to see Mexico go home.
Cameroon central defenders Dany and Chedjou are Galatasaray players. They stink. That's why we lost league championship 6 weeks before end of the season. That said, I am betting 160 bucks for a Croatia win tonight. I already lost money on Netherlands and Spain games. I hope I can recoup some of my money. PS : Damn, I am not doing any more betting for soccer.
-6 in Goal Dff, that is unreal. They gave up 2 goals in 2010 the entire tourny. 7 in 2 games this time around.
Except Mexico and Brazil are only separated by 1 goal in differential so with chances being they both win their last game they will be tied in points. There is no telling where the goal differential will end up so the winner of Netherlands v Chile could still end up playing Brazil.
Well... There goes my prediction of Spain beating Brazil in first elimination round. gotta love the sport. The ball is round, anything can happen
Whoa, hang on here. Chances are Brazil beats Cameroon, but chances are Mexico will not beat Croatia. I say Brazil ends up as 1A, without the tiebreaker coming into play.
That's what I'm hoping for, a Croatia route today already up 1-0 and then beating Mexico. That would absolutely crush their dreams....
Truth is Croatia will have to beat Mexico outright, so that's what makes it tough. They can't play them normally. Mexico has win/draw on their side. Will be interesting to see what the odds for the match are (they'll be released after this match). But either way, I'm confident Brazil will finish atop the group. They are better, have a one goal cushion, and play a weaker opponent.
Although if Croatia can make up the now 3 goals they need against Mexico that changes the way they can play as at that point they would be +1 over Mexico. That cheap PK and the stoppage time goal they gave up could come back to haunt them. That cheap PK ultimately could cost them from advancing because I don't think they give up the 3rd if not for the 2nd. Maybe Brasil scores a 2nd but I don't see them giving up the 3rd.
goal differential is irrelevant because Mexico has a point over Croatia (they drew with Brazil, while Croatia lost). So with a draw, Mexico goes through. Only way Croatia advances is by winning today and then again on Monday (unless you want to entertain the possibility of Brazil losing to Cameroon).
That's right, and BTW for the record 8th time since 1990 Cameroon has had a man sent off with a red. All Croatia needs to do is not screw this up and lose and they could be in business. They have to beat Mexico regardless so a draw isn't going to eliminate them although it puts them in a really bad spot.
