Yep. Who can win when his team is getting outshot 3-2 over the course of a series?

The Rangers had plenty of chances in each game. I don't think I was arguing that the refereeing was the only reason why the Rangers lost the series. I'm just saying that it played a part.

You could just stop at Hank. When you have a very good goalie, that's about 30% of the battle...so you go from there. The point being, they had their CUP experience. Many teams have roster/cap issues. They have a very good coach whos system really didn't get shut down at any time in the playoffs. Will it be 2 steps forward 1 step backward? Could be...but compared to many other teams...especially the other local teams in this area, they have some great things to build on. They have young speed. The biggest IFS are Girardi and Staal who suffered at times in the playoffs. Their resumes are quite different.

I would much prefer to be this franchise then many other franchises. Much.

well that certainly sucked the sweat off a yaks balls. fuckin' ice was tilted as far as I could see and they still hung around yet again with a chance to win the fucker.
again, no bounces and no breaks for the blueshirts, what can you do? when the better team gets a much larger majority of good bounces and rebounds,
forget it. as for the calls, yes they sucked, but that's been going on forever, so you can't bark about it, you can but you can't. the kings just get stronger as the game goes on.
they peak after the 2nd period every night.
reminded me of when the rangers would get assaulted by the capitals before they finally beat them in 2012. henrik stopping 50 shots and rangers losing by 1 all the time.
nash is snakebitten, stepan and Richards were tough to watch, stepan did have a broken jaw though.
NOW! that said, the boys did take out the much hated flightless Antarctic waterfowl, and that made my fuckin' decade, time to still rejoice I say!! that was overly painful Friday night
but c'mon we're still avidly posting about the rangers and its june 16th!! I had a great time until the kings series started, then I got awfully tight. balls shrunk to the size of grapenuts.
October will be here before you know it!!

yeah it was a painful way to end a great run. I don't buy the few people here saying this team is in bad shape going forward........they still have Hank and a solid young core of players. Richards will be gone..............Nash?? well let's just say maybe this experience wakes him up once and for all ( I wanted to kill him when he missed the open net...had it blocked or whatever.....bottom line 99.9% of NHLers put that one away). Girardi, despite his poor showing is still a solid d man. Mac is a beast, Moore is young, Staal is still solid........no one expected them to be in the finals, nor, contrary to some people's beliefs were they built to win it all this year. The experience will only help take the next step. They're in good hands with AV.....if they ever manage to fix the PP. great things are possible.

And I'm not blaming the refs, but no one can convince me that the goalie interference and the Zucc penalty in the last game weren't huge momentum turning plays....sure the Rangers still had many opportunites to answer those, but who knows how it turns out if the correct calls were made in those instances...Kings may have still tied these games up, maybe not.....I didn't get the sense that the ice was that tilted in Game 5.

all in all great hockey spring, and damn glad World Cup is on to provide a nice transition.

I'm no armchair GM by any means but both Ryan Kesler and Jason Spezza want out of their respective teams. Think Staal or Girardi could be traded for a centre?

The Rangers aren't going to fix things by bringing in Tier 1b free agents. They need to find their franchise skater at this point. The guy that nobody doubts as a great player. The closest thing they have right now is Ryan McDonagh and they need to add a big front line player to take the spotlight. Lundqvist is a great player but until the Rangers find a guy who plays on the other 95% of the ice to match him they are going to be stuck in a rut.

Thornton lead the nhl with 65 assists last year and is still a force...Shawn Thornton, if we retain Boyle, would make a Boyle- Moore- Thornton 4th line, which would be arguably the best 4th line in the nhl
