As I suspected before the year/playoffs; the Thunder were going to be the bigger challenge, once when the Spurs got past them I knew they want take down Miami with less difficulty.
5000 predictions, 5 or 6 correct. But I'm not going to trash you today, sozzz, it's a good day to be a Spurs fan.
It's amazing when you sit back and think about this series now that it is over. The Spurs just completely dominated every side of the ball. Other than game 2, the Spurs made Miami look like a joke. It's one thing going to 7 games and being very close, but it's a complete other story when you beat them in 5 games, three of them by 15+ points. This was a complete ass-whopping in every way.
That wasnt really a prediction, ill admit I got it wrong. I said Spurs in 6, I was wrong Sad Patty Mills is going to be leaving, I hope the Knicks sign him so I can go see him play. The guy is really good and can be an above average starting PG in this league.
I always believed the way the series played out would impact Lebron. He said that it wouldnt but hes full of crap. If the Heat had won this is a no-brainer, if the Heat had lost game 7 by like 5 points, again I think he comes back. But to get taken apart, it has to affect his decision, no way it does not.
There's no proof Mills is leaving, he's had exactly one good season and teams may be wary of not getting a repeat performance enough to offer low enough for the Spurs to match or put together a good enough offer to convince him to stay. Playing PG for the Knicks is a far cry from the glory of playing on the utopian squad the Spurs just won with.
I hope he stays, but its kinda like what happenned with Neal. Neal went to the Bobcats. Although Mills is a real PG unlike Neal.
Neal was let go because he couldn't play defense and basically proved his entire game revolved around sticking to one spot on the 3pt line and taking high percentage shots. They tried to replace him with Bellinelli, who played very well early but disappeared down the stretch. The Spurs didn't lose Neal, they kicked him to the curb.
Joseph isnt a bad option if Mills does leave, im just afraid some crappy team will offer him a boatload of money.
Corey Joseph is an average option on a team that is predicated on seamless transition from starters to rotation players, Mills was the answer this year replacing Joseph in that role. Joseph may not be a "bad" option, but the play of the second team will suffer a lot if they have to resort to him.
52.8%! Spurs set a new record for field goal percentage in NBA Finals history in the shot clock era, edging out the '91 Bulls and the '89 Pistons by a 10th of a percent.
Stephen A Smith said that if Melo went to Chicago they would be the favorites to win the East as long as Rose stayed healthy. Id have to agree, but the Rose staying healthy is a big "if". If he does go there (which I dont believe he will) the Heat cant add anyone and Cleveland becomes the favorite.
Haha Lakers fucked up, they could have signed Melo and Lebron. No questions, it would have been a straight option. Now the Heat need Bosh to opt out, Wade to opt out, Melo to opt out, Melo not to go to chicago. So many factors, im not sure if he would have went there but they could have enticed Melo and Lebron with the money.
I want to see where Gasol goes. Hes getting older but he is a solid piece at the right price and can contribute.
