Rock that San Antonio jacket with a Franklin Lakes, New Jersey Police t-shirt and you'll be the envy of everyone on the block
Come on boys. Unlike most major storylines in sports nowadays, this was really a good vs evil deal. Real sports fans outside of Floridians were rooting for the Spurs, and props to the team for actually getting it done.
Everyone outside of South Florida was rooting for the Spurs lol When Miami won it, there was great displeasure found everywhere. I was looking at the polls before this game and the entire nation voted with a HUGE majority in favor of San Antonio. Fuck the Heat and their pathetic franchise.
I'm really disappointed that the Stanley Cup Finals and the NBA Finals each only went 5 games. So much for the league raking in the money off the finals (and they networks).
Was a great win for the class of the NBA. I can't brag about anything right now, I was in Austin for the DNR of a relative of my wife's, and some of us dragged out sad asses to a local bar, but for personal reasons I am glad I missed the game live. Fucking Kawhi. From lamb to lion.
On ESPN's poll they showed Florida rooting for the Heat by 52% to 39% and that is only because Miami Metro is 26% of the population of the state. Most of the rest of Florida dislikes them just as much as the rest of the U.S.
Thanks, but fans don't need congratulations. All we did was root for a team. And some of us made 5000 predictions, 5 of which came true. I congratulate the 2013/14 Spurs for being such a fun team to watch all season, for overcoming the odds and for continually improving throughout this season to the point where they evolved even in the playoffs. This team was coach Pop's greatest accomplishment. I hope Tim and Manu don't retire.
It was not good vs evil haha. If Pat Riley was more involved as a HC I could buy good vs evil haha. The evil cannot be evil if 3 superstars decided to take less money and less stats to play with each other and try to win.
My guesses: Lebron stays one more year at least. No team looks like a good landing spot right now Carmelo goes to HOU. They make at least one WCF but coaching holds them back. Duncan comes back (this is more of a wish) Knicks stink next year but hopefully have a Suns type year where they develop a system that players excel/have fun in and are on the rise.
Basketball is different. Either you are a championship team or you are not. There is no "let's make the playoffs and try to go on a run"
Lebron in postgame presser: "Just wanted to try to inspire my teammates, and uh, just came out very aggressive, made some shots, got to the free throw line, tried to inspire my teammates, tried to get a win. Obviously I didn't do enough." All the while, he's sitting next to Wade who is grimacing at every other comment, and Lebron is wearing shades. He reminded me of that little kid in that movie A Perfect World with Costner and Eastwood, the kid that couldn't get any confidence without wearing sunglasses.
There is no way he signs long term in Miami. He will just opt back in for a year or resign for a one year deal. Lebrons finals losses cant build up and even Lebron said it himself. If he gets to the finals he has to win, sure staying in Miami might get him to the final because the East is cakewalk but they will lose again under how they are currently constructed and that doesnt fly for James.
