what a screwjob disgusting kings win the cup regulation wins 1 to each team 3 ties, all won in OT by LA
Still pissed at that fucking tripping call... There were times where we looked like the dominant team. Still proud of this group...fukin helluva ride! But Nash though..holy fuck what happened?
Think about this. If the refs make the right calls in game two and game five, the Rangers are heading back to New York to have a chance to clinch the series instead of heading home for the summer. The NHL needs to become accountable for this awful display of officiating. Its ruining the NHL.
Nash, Richards and whoever scored the first goal suck. The guy who scored the first goal blew his 1x1 opportunity in OT. Total bummer. Fuck LA hockey.
Lundqvist was outstanding tonite but the Kings were just the better team. Only saw period 3 and the over times but the the Kings looked like they were the more aggressive more overpowering team. The Rangers offense couldn't keep up. As much as I hate them, the Rangers really represented themselves outstandingly. You should be proud Ranger fans. Your team played great. _
Stop. Your guys played great. They were outplayed and beaten by a superior team. There has to he a winner and a loser. Don't blame the refs. --
Don't be stupid. The refs blew game two and game five with bad calls. Did you think they made the right calls? I acknowledge that human error is part of the game, but if bad calls lost the Miami Heat the NBA Finals it would be the biggest story in sports. The media doesn't know anything about hockey, and has their heads up the Kings ass so they think the big, tough and gritty kings are such a superior hockey team. Both teams won a game in regulation, and the Kings won three games in overtime, two of which should have never gone to overtime because of bad calls. Don't tell me that the refs didn't influence the series.
You're right. The Rangers won the Stanley Cup but the refs stoled it from them. You're a fan. You can't accept it. However the Kings were better. Clearly. But yes, I'm the stupid one. _
My fandom aside, I just feel bad for Hank. That man plays his damn heart out every year, carries this team on his back. Nobody deserves the Cup more. It'd be a fucking crime if he doesn't get to hoist the Cup.
So fucking gutted man...Games 1,3,5 all heartbreakers...Nash scoring on that open net right there would have literally shifted this series around by bringing it back home...Instead his puck decides to hit the flailing Voynov's stick. That McDonaugh post as well...Just a tough fucking loss...Great season though and I wish we bring back most of these guys MINUS BRAD RICHARDS. I wish Rick Nash figures his shit out but I dont know whats his deal...He looked great on every other aspect except his scoring touch. Just a great game that we lost in OT again..No bounce went our way. Lundqvist was unreal...HANDS DOWN best goaltender in the world. I hope we win a Cup with that man, he so deserves it man. Lets go at it again next year...This team better be hungry for it now they got a taste of it
P.S. FUCK Dan O'hallaran for that no cal on the interference on Dwight King and the ref from today who called a stupid fucking penalty on Zucc while Muzzin tripped himself and embellished
period 2 was the Rangers, period 3 was the Kings, OT was up for grabs. should have watched entire game. there wasn't a clear better team on the ice tonite, nor was there for entire series. couple calls/bounces either way could have shaped this series much differently. that's just how it goes in championship hockey though. hats off to the Kings, they earned it the hard way these playoffs. Rangers left it all out there as well, and gave fans an enjoyable ride.
I stayed away until it ended, but after reading some of these posts I wanted to comment from a nom-Rangers fan perspective . You guys sound whiny and your complaints about officiating and the woulda shoulda coudas are ridiculous. Here's the bottom line. Your team gave you a great ride this post season. The games in the finals were thrilling and last nights game was a thrilling heart stopper. Lundquist was tremendous. I know it hurts to come that close to a Cup and lose, particularly with 3 OT losses. But let's face facts. The Kings were the better team and it wasn't really close, even though the games were. The Kings outplayed the Rangers by a large margin in every game, except game 3 after they took the 3-0 lead, but you could see they were protecting the lead in the third period. The refs were not a factor. That is an absurd claim. Some calls went against the Rangers, but some went against the Kings also. There were phantom penalties called on both teams and penalties not called on both teams. The calls evened out. The only reason the series was close was Lundquist. In games 1,2,4 and 5, the Kings outshot the Rangers 180-112. After the second period in those games, the Kings outshot the Rangers 95-38, or almost 3-1. And that reflected the play. Some of the third period shot totals were absurdly one-sided. 20-1! 15-3! I dont know how games 1, 4,and 5 were not blowouts. The Kings so dominated play, particularly late in games, that it appeared the ice was tilted. The Kings put tremendous pressure on the Rangers late in games. The only things keeping the puck out of the net was Lundquist and the hockey gods( two pucks just stopping on the goal line !). As a long time die hard hockey fan, I can say that the Rangers got everything they could get out of this team in the post season. They were not the best team in hockey like they were in 94. They were a borderline playoff team that got hot in the post season and rode their goalie to the finals. They were not robbed or jobbed or unlucky. They were beaten by a bigger, stronger, deeper and more talented team.
It was a great run by the Rangers but the Kings were the better team on the ice and it wasn't really close. The Rangers had the better goalie but after that it was Kings advantage all over the place. I don't think I've ever seen a team dominate in the offensive zone the way the Kings did in this series. If Lundqvist wasn't great the series would have had a bunch of lopsided scores. Two things the Rangers need to fix before they make another run: 1. The defense needs to have better puck handlers. The Rangers kept turning the puck over in the slot and out a bit further around the blue line. The slot turnovers are just deadly but the TO's near the blue line are really dangerous also. 2. The Rangers have to find a big guy to sit in the slot and top of the crease and put things away when they land in front of him. They have no finishers out there who are going to make the other team pay for giving up a rebound.
