The best part of watching the spurs play is the air they take out of the ball. The offensive rotation and passing. They will go whole offensive series' and the ball won't touch the floor once. That is awesome basketball. The Heat dribble way too much. Their offensive coaching is terrible. Too many guys standing around waiting for LeBron to do something. No creativity. The 2 teams are stark opposites
This is what strikes me the most, both his body language and his postgame comments were not encouraging. He ripped his team, he ripped his coach, Pat Riley is under real pressure now to land Carmelo Anthony. If they cant get Anthony, they truthfully can not do much. Wades stock is dropping through the roof, he is set to make 20 million dollars next season. Will he toss it away? No clue. Will Bosh leave? possibly. On the other hand Cleveland is sitting right there ready to make there push for Lebron James. At this point in time, does Miami have a player as good as Kyrie Irving outside of Lebron? IMO No. They also have the top pick in the draft. Will Lebron stay on the sinking ship or will he go to the fountain of youth? (oh and TBH, imo Melo and Lebron would not work out to good, I just dont think they could play together and win championships)
Oh no JS..no no no...I don't hate him because he didn't choose the Knicks. I hated him in Cleveland bud. No... This really isn't breaking news JS...to hate on a guy because he acts like a thug and have him on your team? If the fact is that you cant hate a guy and still be ok with him on your team? My rosters would be depleted. Not really breaking news. Being a Knick fan? What to do with J.R. Smith when he is leading a charge back hitting everything in site. I would say Carmelo even gets on my nerves with his stupid grins when he makes a mistake. Hating a guy and him ending up on your team? Yankee fan here and had to root for Clemens and Boggs. I really do not see the point. Would I have thought THE DECISON was cool if he said "im taking my talents a few blocks from the Empire State Building? I would still think he was the biggest egotistical asshole out there...but a member of my team.
You are correct. I think that's what Lebron finally sees. Its a sinking ship. When you put your eggs in Wades basket, you had to know the window was short. I would dare to say it lasted an extra year for him. This Wade has been done stuff...Wade has been playing really good basketball in the playoffs..so Lebron seeing this window closing is new news. They have a problem down there. Why should Wade take a huge cut or walk away with everything he has done down there. This is his last chance to take the money and not deserve it. Bosh? A tool. What worries me is there are probably a few GMS that might take a contract to make this team recover. I really cant see 4 guys taking a huge bump down, the big 3 and Anthony lets say, to make it work..but I think that's the only way it happens. And again, Lebron gets to play GM by insisting on more stars instead of building a team of very good players around him. Would love to see how the players union responds if they decide to try to pull that off.
big 3 minus Lebron is big 2, right? if you take the big 3 away they aren't a playoff team but just Lebron and they still have a ton of talent though they are being outplayed this series. I am not bashing Lebron, he's the best player in the sport by a wide margin but I am sick of hearing excuses for the guy.
The other issue is, if you do bring in Carmelo, then whos your PG? whos your big man? I think playing with Irving makes more sense. They also can draft a guy like Parker, Wiggins, Embiid. Imagine Lebron with a good PG and a good center? It would make his life a lot easier.
Things have flipped quickly, all year Ive been hearing that Lebron finally has a "home", and how he "trusts" Pat Riley. Did not sound like he trusted the players Pat Riley surrounded him with last night. Did not sound like he sounded happy with the coach Riley put to coach him and his team. From a basketball standpoint, Miami is no longer the best option, Cleveland looks a lot better, unless Miami can get Carmelo (which I dont think will work).
The Heat's half court offense is bland as a plain bagel; they got nothing going on. I believe that game 5 will be LeBron's last in a Heatles uni. He's going going, back back, to Cleveland Cleveland. Gonna hang with Johnny Doucheball and smoke cigars.
Signing Carmelo makes zero sense to Miami other than just wanting big names. It doesn't solve either of the two issues Miami has: point guard and interior defense. Now bring in the fact that Chalmers is a free agent and Norris Cole is due $2 million. Carmelo to Miami would just be Riley trying to show off his ability to sign big name free agents. I hate that douche
I think many here just can't let go. From vick to now lebron. The decision was a bit much at the time but I find it very hard to believe grown ass men still hold onto to these things and continue to hate years later. I too hated him with all that attention but as time went on it made sense for him to do what he did (not the espn event) and at the end he has his TWO rings. And so what if he had a rally at the time. That move he made was huge back then. Y'all sound like a women scorn and or continue to take these athletes too seriously. It's really weird situation for Lebron and the Heat because of the opt ins everyone has. Lebron and Melo would be a great fit in general, but I don't think Melo is quick enough for Spo's defense. On top of that, Wade is clearly showing he can't keep up in it either, so Melo + Wade would be two subpar defenders. Melo is fine 1 vs 1 defensively, but team defense he struggles. Offensively he would be lethal, but that's not enough. I still don't think Lebron to NY can happen this offseason unless NY somehow unloads Chandler/Bargs/Amare. Lebron to NY would have to take place in 2015 and if Melo opts in, that possibility of Lebron coming to NY jumps from 0.1% of happening to 1% or a small jump. Should be an interesting FA either way. It's really interesting how the players have so much control because they can make so much money outside of the game. Owners definitely won the CBA, but the players still found a way to take their careers into their own hands.
Interesting notes from Ira Winderman when talking to Francesa: -Wade has the Kobe mentality and it will be very difficult to convince him to take less money -Lebron is going to have a very heated argument with Pat Riley for being cheap with Mike Miller and trying to save dollars -Lebron is going to tell Wade to redo his contract or else its going to apparently get ugly -If Lebron does come back to Miami, expect it to be short term (1 year deal) -Wade is going to get the blame for the finals (and rightfully so, he has been horrendous) -Lebron has had a sprained ankle since game 1 Basically Ira made it sound like things are getting ugly, and to to me that was apparent last night in the post game conference when Lebron ripped his coach and ripped his teammates. Hopefully the Spurs can end this Sunday, then all the drama will begin.
lol so Mike Miller would have been the difference maker? This guy and his "team" are so calculated in their moves to get him in the best possible situation it is hard for me to find sympathy for him when GMs/Coaches/Teammates let him down
