I said i'd take him over Powell if he was healthy. He's got more talent. Powell is what he is. A nice third stringer. Goodson had the talent to be more then that. Given the current situation i'd obviously part ways with him.
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets coach Rex Ryan said Wednesday he hasn't heard a word from Mike Goodson, who hasn't attended any of the eight organize team activity practices, but he "definitely" expects the troubled running back to show up for next week's minicamp based on the fact that it's mandatory. Any player that skips a mandatory minicamp is subject to a stiff fine. Goodson is dealing with issues beyond football, including a gun-possession charge stemming from an arrest last May in New Jersey. A hearing scheduled for Wednesday morning in Morris County Superior Court was postponed until June 26, the court said Wednesday. The postponement was requested by the attorney of the co-defendant, Garant Evans. Goodson was the passenger in a vehicle driven by Evans, who also was charged with gun possession. They were arrested when their car was found at 3:15 a.m. in the middle of a highway in New Jersey. Both were intoxicated, according to police. The police also found a handgun loaded with a hollow-point bullet in the glove compartment. Goodson was indicted last November on a second-degree charge for unlawful possession of a weapon and a fourth-degree charge for the hollow-point bullet. He's also rehabbing from major knee surgery. He has two years remaining on his contract, but his roster spot is in jeopardy.
I thought Parcells hired Belichik. If you are referring to the promotion to the HC job, imo that was not a case of hiring. That is a promotion.

Parcells worked for Belichik for a long time, and the so-called hiring of Belichik was a cover to allow Belichik to get around his contract with NE. When Belichik was "actually" going to be the HC, that was later and was a promotion.
