No, I know. I'm just pointing things out since a couple of us have been discussing this now. Jordan and Bryant were making $30+ million a year in their prime. Hell, Bryant is still making that. Lebron needs his pay day. There are way too many moving pieces for Carmelo to end up in Miami. This isn't like when they made the move for LeBron and Bosh. This is way different. They'd be asking each guy to take massive pay cuts, they'd be asking Haslem to take a huge cut off his last year, then they'd need to take the rest of the money to find other pieces. Carmelo would no longer be the big shot. He would be playing under LeBron and would be making nothing close to what he wants. Too many moving pieces. Everything sounds great in theory, but getting all this to happen is near impossible. Carmelo's best move would be to stay in New York. Spend a year battling out another average season and let Jackson work his magic next year when there is money to blow and contracts are off the books. Let Jackson try and pursue guys like Kevin Love and LeBron James.
I just don't know. The guy has to be worth half a billion--I'm thinking he cares more about championships and his legacy rather than the extra $$ per year--although I could be wrong. But I can't see him going to get the last dollar at the expense of a better situation. _
I agree in part, but it would require him to drop his salary down to near $14 million. Yes, he's a lot about championships, but he's making $19 million now. The best player in the world making less than $15 million a year? Insane. I think last time I was reading, James is worth somewhere in the ballpark of $180 million.

Yeah, I remember reading that. I was shocked also. You'd figure with all the money in endorsements and his playing career, he'd be worth more. He will be worth a lot more one day. He's a smart guy and has the right people close to him. He's very close with guys like Warren Buffet, who will guide him in investing his money. I wouldn't doubt one day he's worth half a billion. With or without his big pay day.

About game 4 tonight, after game 3 I assumed the Heat would win game 4 in cakewalk. Those feelings have changed, I am actually feeling fairly optimistic because all season I felt like the Spurs were just the better team. The Heat on the other hand were not as good as last season and have been relying very heavily on Lebron James. The telling game to me was game 2, the Heat had to win that game, they won it, but they had to fight for it and scrape it out despite Lebron having one of the greatest shooting in a finals games ever. Compare that to last year, game 4 when the Heat had to win in San Antonio, they WON IT fairly easily. Not so much this year. So all season long the Spurs have been talking about game 6 and redeeming themselves and getting the championship, this is it right here, they win tonight they will go home and get this burden off their chests forever. My brain told me Spurs in 5, the heart told me Spurs in 6, I rolled with Spurs in 6 but I suspected it was going to be 2-1 either way. Hopefully they can win tonight, Go Spurs Go.
