Aside from this one game, who has mentioned the refs in this series?

And if you think the Heat were getting the bad whistle for three quarters, fucking justify it or shut up.

Well either you or soxxx was complaining how Lebron gets away with everything after game 2 and they never call fouls on Lebron. Maybe I made the wrong assumption that was a reaction to game 2 and a general observation?

The Spurs took more FT in the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Q. In both the 1st and 4th Q they took 13 free throws. They got the automatic free throws penalty with 6+ minutes left in the 4th quarter. The Spurs took first 9 free throws of the 4th Q and were up 11-2 before the bench players were brought in. They were up 13-3 in the 1st Q in free throws. The only close quarter was when the Spurs were up 4-3 in the 2nd Q. But in that quarter the Spurs got benefit of grabbing and pulling on defense. Kawhi, in general, got the benefit of the doubt with is contact on Lebron, something he didn't get in game 2.

Overall the refs were bad, but the Spurs benefited most. Brothers isn't a good ref though. The Spurs would have won anyways because they were playing better. They were the aggressors and the whistle went their way. Again, it happens. It's not like it was rigged or anything, they got the whistle because they took it to Miami. That's basketball refs and that's why they are bad, they aren't robots.

EDIT: I did just realize, I was thinking of a couple posts from last nights game and it was another forum! Which is probably why my response here was more critical, because it was meant for another forum. Same thing happens here, but not as bad since we have like 10 basketball fans.

Do you think a box score of fouls is such an expert way of analyzing what team got the calls? Haven't you ever bothered to look at what players got called and what period they got called in? Is the box stat your be-all end-all of how you judge a game?

FT line basically helps determine if your eyes matched what you saw. It matched for me. Usually if a team is getting the short end of the stick when they get hit, you notice it is the short end of stick because the other team gets to the FT line for similar contact.

Interestingly enough, Heat now have a losing record with McCutchen as the lead ref in the playoffs. Below tweet was posted before the game.

    NBA Ref Stats @NBARefStats · Jun 10
In Big 3 era, #Heat are 8-8 in playoffs w Monty McCutchen. McCutchen is only ref MIA doesn't have a winning record with (min 5 playoff gms).

I'm acting like a NBA expert by looking at a box score, reading numbers, and quoting twitter? You have a low bar for what a NBA expert is.

Dude no one cares about what you say, I just skip over your post when I see them because I knows its another attempt from you to act like you are above everyone else on this board when it comes to basketball.

Now Windhorst is stating Miami intends to pursue Carmelo. Francesa talked to him today and he basically hinted that any "Carmelo to Miami" chatter is coming directly out of the mouth of Lebron James. He also hinted that Bosh is likely the man to go and apparently the Lakers would pursue Bosh to team up with Kobe. Wade is ready to become the 6th man of the Miami Heat if Carmelo does go to South Beach. Keep in mind though, as Windhorst stated, Carmelo has NEVER been the #2 man ever, he was #1 in Syracuse, Denver, and NY so it would be a big change.

Im now inclined to believe that this might actually go down, especially if Lebron is pushing for it.

No I don't, I'm just a real life interpretation of a person who talks about basketball.

We will see how much Melo wants money vs a shot at a ring.

Also, if Pat Riley somehow gets Wade to opt out, that would be ridiculous. Bosh said he's willing to take less to stay and what not. Lebron and Wade haven't committed to that but Wade would be taking a pay cut.

I wonder if how Melo played on the Olympic team would be his style as the #2 in Miami. More of a catch and shooter than he was on the Knicks.

It's one thing to be a part of a Knicks organization that is stuck in mud, but with the hiring of Phil Jackson and the signing of Derek Fisher, you gotta rethink everything. Those two guys have a combined 16 rings. You wanna be a part of a championship team, it all starts at the top. Why get up and change your entire life and role on a team just to play in another city? LeBron needs to come to New York. That would be incredible

Was just reading, in order for the Heat to sign Carmelo, every player would need to be paid between $12-14 million. Lebron's highest salary of his career was this year at $19.5 million. In order for the Heat to afford him, they would need to pay him around $14 million. Why would the best player in the world not sign a contract like Jordan or Bryant worth North of $30 million. In order to sign Carmelo the Heat would need to sacrifice a TON.

I wouldnt get to excited but Durant was tweeting and congratulating Fisher. If the Knicks cant retain Melo then they do half time to build a landing strip for Durant.
