Derek Stephan and Brad Richards can not get off this team fast enough as far as I am concerned. They are a constant source of aggravation.

Dan Girardi is not too far behind.

Doughty is marvelous with the puck though, he's like Erik Karlsson. Subban trips over himself when anyone gets near him in the offensive zone (and sometimes when nobody does). Great slapshot and can hit, that's about all Subban is.

    Oh..and I keep typing Sabban....SUBBAN..TY MR.

I would give the edge to Doughty a bit. Subban is a clubber..hard hitter in the zone but actually taking pucks..poke checks....nah.

in the offensive zone...lets face it..Subban is an animal. Imagine if we had a guy blasting from the point like that?

I hear you JS but back then..a guy like him playing on a team like that didn't have to be a 2 way player. But when he came to the Rangers..you are dead on..yeah..a shell of himself but still, could remember him going into corners like a thief in the night. Slithering like a snake and doing all he could not to be recognized.

The always comparison to Messier and him, who meant what...lets face it..Messier was a bruiser compared to him. Messier was the guts behind that glory.

I'm not knocking Gretzky at all--he was The Great One--just not the greatest in my book. Orr and Gordie were better.

Yeah, the 5 Cups did sound high.

This is a very realistic possibility and it should make every Rangers fan sick to their stomach. The transition game that is the most important part of AV's system would become a disaster.

Not knocking him at all J..not at all. I just wonder what a guy like him would have handled todays hockey. Not saying its a tougher hockey nowadays. Its just that the smaller framed guys of the past might have suffered a bit in todays game.

And he was the best..the best..but lets never say he was a brilliant 2 way player. He hung out most of the time at the red line and had every right to with that team.

are you nuts? The game was wayyyyy tougher back then. That's why every team needed a goon to protect their stars. But that's not the half of it!!! 3 words for you if youre wondering how Wayne would do today------two line pass-----it doesn't exist anymore. If you took out the center line back then, Gretzky would have TWICE the points ( exaggeration)...plus the way they call holding and interference now---POOF, Gretzky would EASILY have 20% more points in his career if he played now

Expect 'Car Bomb' back in #NYR lineup from suspension as one of potential multiple changes by Vigneault

matt, I originally replied to a quote of yours and thinking it was "Jet trivia" thread-related, it ended up here (*gulp*!). oops..

Tonight: no other choice than to accept that it is what it is.....win one, just one and then go from there...just a glimmer...a game 5.... LGR.
