Spurs lost this game because of Leonard. 9 points and fouled out. He needs to step up like he did last year in the finals. I don't expect this bad of a game from him again.
I wonder why Duncan struggled in the 4th. 0 points, but it felt like he just never touched the ball as much as he did in the beginning of the game
Nope. http://www.suntimes.com/27963388-579/lebron-answers-with-35-points-as-heat-even-nba-finals.html SAN ANTONIO—Apparently the Heat specializes in resiliency. Faced with the possibility of going down 2-0 in a playoff series for the first time since LeBron James and Chris Bosh joined Dwayne Wade in Miami, the Heat responded with a 96-98 win.
Spurs/Pats comparison on twitter Bomani Jones @bomani_jones 8m spurs have done lots and lots of winning, but they’ve never dealt with the unrealistic standards that often come with all that success. gregg rosenthal @greggrosenthal 1m @bomani_jones There are some similarities to the Patriots and Brady. Bomani Jones @bomani_jones 1m @greggrosenthal i compare them all the time. and when you bring it up, people smack you DOWN.
I still don't think Miami has enough depth. Chalmers and Cole gave nothing offensively, but it was Lebron catching fire in the 3rd that kept Miami only down 1. As good as Lebron is, you cannot count on that. Lewis turned back the clock, but Jones missed everything and Battier got a DNP. I'm not sure who Spo will use next game, but the two PG and two SF gave you nothing (one by choice)
Felt Tony Parker didn't get enough touches down the stretch, Manu made some bad decisions to end the game
The lack of depth for Miami will come to light as this series goes on. The first two games are way too early. When this series starts getting rough, the Spurs depth will prevail. It's too early still
I don't get why people think Miami was automatically winning Game 1 if LeBron didn't go out, weren't the Spurs UP by two at that point?
LeBron turning it on in key situations hurt the Spurs, and SA got too cold in spurts to overcome some "adversity". I'm not going to get on Tony for missing flagrant free throws that came after a foul that should have led to an ejection. Hopefully he doesn't have cracked ribs, Chalmers is a cheap shotting asshole. Great flops by the Heat, btw. They are definitely in championship form.
It was going to be a coin flip. Miami was actually up 2 when LeBron first had to take himself out due to the cramping. 86-84 Miami. LeBron later returned for one play before exiting again, so if you want to look at it, Miami had the lead. For the last 7:31, he played only one play. Game could've gone either way.
This is a joke now. I know Manu flops a ton too, but just look at this! This isn't even basketball anymore, its acting. Guys from the 80's and 90's must vomit every time a ref blows his whistle in favor of the flop.
I hope someone puts together a highlight reel of the 2014 Heat playoffs, complete with all the flops (that somehow went unfined!).
Its always hilarious watching the reactions after a game. No one had either team sweeping each other, yet the moment a team loses, everyone begins to act like one team has the series on a lock while the other is done. Good thing the players dont have that mindset, people look at the big picture, the final score, but in reality these teams take the game possession by possession. They go through the motions of each possession and then in the end we see what the result is.
