Try both. Who else has the time to post FIFTY entries on a message board during working hours except a deadbeat bum like yourself?…hahahaha
joe, you're as subtle as a sledgehammer and about as intelligent. i guess we should at least be thankful you're not posting images from ogrish.com tonight.
I am a deadbeat dad, I can't believe I have finally been figured out but the good news is I have time to post! I thank you for being a fan.
Baseball is the best sport to watch in person. Easy to follow, the weather is generally good and you can just chill out for a few hours with your buddies and some cold beer and good food without feeling like you need to follow every second of the game. A perfect game for the Summer. Basketball, live or on TV has to be the most tedious, boring sport ever invented. This phrase pretty much sums up the first 47 minutes of every basketball game .... "This is a BIG spot in the game. If (insert team) doesn't get a stop here, they can go down by 5 or 6 points. You know what THAT means! Oh wait ... nothing". There are no big plays in basketball .... It's like the "Anti-Football". Every score, every snapshot of a basketball game at any point is completely meaningless until the last minute. Watching a basketball game is like 47 minutes of watching teams trade 5 dollar bills for 5 singles, with the fans cheering every transaction as if they made a profit. Basically impossible to watch an entire game. I don't know how people do it.
People watch it for the athleticism and artistry of the players and for the dunking. Other than that, there is no reason to watch most of a basketball game,
I've no idea what the heck ogrish.com is but apparently you do; I'll leave it at that. As for 'subtle' .... if words were birds, you'd be covered in white : ) Sha na na na - sha na na na na Ah, dip dip dip dip dip dip dip dip Mum mum mum mum mum mum Get a job
For NBA games, if you're not sitting sideline there's Baseball is about the whole experience, hanging out, taking it slow, grabbing some beers shooting the breeze, etc... Great for the kids, good family atmosphere. But in terms of entertainment product, hockey is tops because it's like the NFL without all the stop and go, and in a smaller venue so you're closer to all parts of the game
I mentioned this earlier, this is why I didn't put baseball. The experience is great, but watching baseball live is nothing great for me. The experience is awesome, but for the sport itself, it's not better FOR ME. Again, this is all my opinion. The same goes for football for me. The experience is great, but for the sport, give me my HDTV, couch, AC/Heat. Same with baseball. Basketball and Hockey I feel like I go to the games more for the sport than the experience. Arenas are arenas, you are inside, and there is more continuous action. And I think the reason hockey is the best for me, the continuous back and forth seems to happen most in hockey. Where you have a chance, they have a chance, you have a chance, they have chance. Or if your goalie is stopping everything thrown at him on a PP, or your team is ripping shot after shot. Or the last 60 seconds where the other team pull the goalie and you are up one and as the seconds tick down the realization of the crowd that the game is about to be won. Yeah so for me hockey has been the best experience live. Saying that, watching people react to a catchable foul ball or home run is really fun.
Neil Best@sportswatch 57s NBA Finals Game 1 averaged 11.1% of homes in New York market. Stanley Cup Final Game 1 averaged 10.1% of homes in New York market. Not related to the OPINIONS of best to watch in person but very interesting anyway.
really? then why were game 1 ratings way down from a year ago? and why couldn't a NY team w/ a rabid fanbase beat out the NBA Finals w/o a NY team in it?
LA isn't a hockey town, and there isn't much of a national fanbase. The blackhawks & bruins have a pretty big following throughout. I believe this game 1 was the second highest ever?
#1 and 2 TV markets on NBC vs. 2 small markets in basketball and the 2 small markets beat the NHL in the marker where a NY team is plying in the Finals in hockey.
This is news to you? Hockey ratings will always be lower nationwide than NBA or the other 2, hockey is a foreign concept to most of middle america. The point is that it's growing rapidly and ratings are better every year. Game 7 of the Blackhawks/Kings WCF was the highest ever rated NHL game in the United States. Hockey has a real good thing going and is attracting more fans every year who get exposure to the sport
I hear Nickleback on the radio far more frequently than the Meat Puppets. I guess they really are more talented.
I can't tell which is a more awesome show, The Big Bang Theory or Modern Family. The live audiences they are filmed in front of sound like they are howling in each. _
we were discussing NEW YORK not nationwide. obviously nationwide they will be higher for basketball as it is the much more popular sport but our basketball teams stink and our hockey team is in the Finals yet the NBA got higher ratings in NEW YORK. Hockey SHOULD be much more popular, it is a good game. it should be considered one of the big 4 sports again like it used to be. I hope they are making progress and will eventually be a big time sport again but at the moment they lag behind.
last time the Yankees made the postseason, regular season Jets games had higher local ratings than the Yankees http://nypost.com/2012/10/10/yankees-lose-the-ratings-game-to-jets/
