most non contact injuries can be prevented with proper strength and conditioning training combined with proper recovery routines. remember, these guys are athletes that play a game - they spend time in the weight room because they have to for their job, they may not necessarily enjoy it. there's a reason guys like ray Lewis last so long, they have unparralled conditioning regimins.
Thanks for the info..very informative. Do you have media/special access or was this session open to the public? I've been dying to take a trip out to see Florham Park & have a pretty open calendar being out of work.Problem is the actual date/time open to the public isn't really posted anywhere.
Sure. It was actually a "vip" event for winner's of an early renewal sweepstakes for season ticket holders. There was probably about 100 attendees there in all, maybe a little more. I must admit the Jets really put on a top notch event. They had a continental breakfast for everyone, then out to the fields to watch the entire practice, followed by giving everyone an NFL regulation sized football with the Jets established date of 1960, the score from Super Bowl III and the World Champs logo. Also a green Jets insignia patch emblazoned on the ball. The players were very cool, friendly and talkative when signing the ball. I spoke to briefly, got pics and signatures from Geno, CJ, Bilal, Ivory, David Nelson and Bohanon. Then back inside for lunch and Idzik comes out of the Jets offices and was nice enough to speak to everyone at our table and take some pics with me. I'd attach some pics I took but I don't see an attachment icon on the bar above to add them. Wish I had more info. for you on when they practice again or when the facility is open to the public for their workouts but don't know what the schedule is.
I don't know about anyone else, but I am getting pretty excited with what I am hearing from some of the not as well known guys like ras-I dowling, jermaine Cunningham, and Kerry Hyder. With what I'm hearing about dowling he has been playing great and definitely has a chance to make the final roster. Apparently his talent is immense so he could push to start if given the opportunity and ability to stay healthy. Cunningham is also a high draft pick that the pats cut and reports are saying he's moving very quick on the edge and with Barnes injured he's been getting a lot of reps. I think aside from coples, pace, and Barnes it's going to be Cunningham and reily battling for the last olb spot. Ik will probably be on the practice squad. Kerry Hyder(if I'm not mistaken) is the only player that we signed as an UDFA who was on an all conference team so he obviously has some skill. People are saying due to the d line already being so dominant he will have a hard time making it. I don't see why he couldn't be our other reserve d end with douzable if he plays well enough. These three guys intrigue me with what they could bring to the table, just thought id say my piece.
