Congratulations ranger fans. Even though I am not a Ranger fan myself it's good to see other Jet fans have a team play for a title. Playoff runs are extremely exciting in hockey too. Awesome stuff, enjoy it guys.

Kovi was a guy that everyone trashed on occasion because he was sooooo talented and never busted out in a huge way..or at least as much as many thought he could. Still, when it was all done, he ended up being a really clutch guy...incredible speed with a TOUCH.

Im not going to blab that much right now but Im going to spend a few posts talking about A.V. and what could be the best coaching job by any Ranger coach in my lifetime. The 94 team was loaded..loaded. What A.V. did....as M.R. mentioned above with using the 4 lines..it just makes every player look faster especially late in games. His calmness...I mean...this guy is one cool dude. Nothing rattles him and that was not the case in 94 where rumors had it that Keenan was having a nervous breakdown and had to be consoled by Messier several times in the playoffs.

A.V. is the perfect coach for a hockey team in N.Y. His ability to get this team to buy into the turning the other cheek..letting them be themselves and use their speed. Using the 4 lines and opening up with the 4th line last night. This was as good a coaching job as I have ever seen without the fluff. This guy is not about himself...he has no ego...he has so many traits I ALSO HATE in a coach: Not calling out the lazy ones at times during the season...the stupid ones..but he has it RIGHT. He had the true pulse of this team from day 1.

Im not saying this team is not talented but for all the kudos being thrown to Sather by the media, this roster is NOT perfect. A.V. took what he had and made it work. Regardless that they vote after seasons end..there is no doubt in anyones mind right now that HE is the coach of the year..by far.

Roger Nielson wasn't the coach by 94.

times like this I wish NYC embraced the Rangers as much as they are right now.

Especially the media...This town feels better when they talk hockey

Keenan...I reread it and changed it...I have no idea how I had Nielson in my head.

Regardless, there were rumors that Keenan was having a breakdown..total breakdown..and Messier had to constantly pick him up during the Devil series.

That was the greatest save I've ever seen. You think of all that was at stake, the Rangers were dominating and it wasn't showing on the board, a weird deflection off the stick. And amidst all of that Hank has the wherewithal to chuck his stick and punch it out while upside down? Holy shit. That's an ALL-TIME great save if the Rangers go on to win it all this year.

Seeing that live, everyone around me was saying something to the effect of, "Oh my God, how did he react like that???"

    Long live King Henrik.

Yeah..that was a respect handshake at the end of the game but you get the feeling...hmmm...you ever have a friend that you get along great with and then at one time you go on vacation and after 48 hours your like..who is he? You get the feeling A.V. found out a little bit more about his whining little friend. Therrien is a bitch..and he showed it in his press conference at the end when you figured he would finally be a bit nice about the Rangers but instead, mentioned the injury to Price about 10 times..and that number is about right.

    He is a bitch.

And his decision to just blow out Subban was absurd. That was stupid having him out there so much..I don't care who you have on the bench.

And as far as Subban is concerned...when that guy is on the point in the offensive zone, I will admit I cringe. He is a monster at the point.

With that said, watching him for 6 games...sorry...not impressed as an actual defenseman. Not at all. He is not good with his stick...he is horrible behind the net with the puck..and not until he is given room does he become dangerous. I saw very little in his own zone that showed me that he is a top whatever DEFENSEMEN. Nothing. He is an offensive defensemen that also hits well...period.
